Default Rust question.

I was out hunting/canoeing a couple of days ago. In the process I got a small amount of water in the muzzle of my rifle. By the time i noticed it, there was already rust forming inside the barell. I ran a few patches and my bore snake through it. Its still present in the grooves of the rifle. What can I use to clean it?? Thanks.

A brush and some foaming bore cleaner. At least you had a snake to slow it down a bit. Shouldn't be too bad to get off the rifling.

I suggest a bronze bore brush and WD40 or similar. Scrub it good, dry patch, and repeat until no rust evident on the patch. Then clean bore as normal and patch in some light oil or whatever ya use for rust prevention.
