Default Bases for Tikka T3

I just bought a Tikka T3 laminate .270 WSM and I am wanting to put Leupold QRW rings on. Does anyone know who makes bases that will fit a Tikka and these rings? Are the T3 mounts the same as the Sako A7?

I beleive you can get weaver mounts (same style as on the Sako A7) to fit the Tikka T3, then those rings should work.

Thanks, I was starting to get worried after I bought them that I might not be able to find a base that would work.

I have 2 of the exact same rifle I bought new in 2004 (My wife took over the first so I got another for me). Only rings and bases to put on a Tikka T3 or Sako m75/m85 rifles are the Sako/Tikka Optilock rings and bases. Very strong, solid. A bit pricey but worth it in my books. My first Sako m75 rifle I bought new in 1997 was a 300WM...never lost a zero setting or scope movement.

Leupold VX3 scopes mounted...3.5-10x40 BC reticle and a 4.5-14x40 with BC reticles. Sighting in was abreeze. Shoots 140gr Accubonds under 0.5" groups all day long.

Ice Fishing Maniac, where did you buy your optilock rings at?.. I did not go with them because I have difficulty finding them.

I just bought a set of SS Optiloc's from Ellwood Epps in Ontario. They shipped them to me within a week.

I got a set of the Leupold Dual Dovetail mounts on my T3 Lite and I have no complaints, aside from my Leupold has a 50mm Bell and I needed high mounts. But my birthday gift to me from me is comming soon so that might all change

For my 2 Tikka T3's I bought mine at P & D Enterprises in Edmonton. Easy to find...Wholesale Sports and other stores that sell Tikka and Sako firearms should carry them.

As for the new style Sako Optilock Ringmounts, I dont know if they will fit on a Tikka T3 rifle. They are a sweet ring. I have 1 pr mounted on my Sako m75 Greywolf 338-06AI and a second pair waiting for a new project rifle based on a Sako m75 receiver/action again.

I just read some of the other posts....check out the Canadian Tire on MacLeod Trail...they sell Sako and Tikka T3 firearms....good people. I have delt with them on my Sako m75 Greyolf in 2008 when it was a new 25-06 and I replaced the barrel and other work to make the 338-06AI
