I did all of the load testing myself. The results are repeatable, the rifle likes the one load, and hates the other three.

I finally picked up my case of Federal 209A shotgun primers, thanks to the AO Pony Express, they made their way from Medicine Hat to Edmonton.

Pulled 53 bullets from some 45-70 rounds I had loaded for my old Marlin 1895GBL. In addition to having the total wrong bullet for my Sharps single shot, these rounds had about 7 grains over the maximum load for the Sharps rifle. I had thought about firing them in the Sharps, but common sense got the better of me.

Saved almost 250 grains of IMR4198 powder tonight. I did run the cases through the F.L. die and then opened the neck slightly with the flaring die. Now, they’re ready to charge again and seat the new Spitzers.

….only 100 left to pull. Damn, my right hand and wrist are sore!

Another 700 skeet loads for the 410 today, likely another four loading sessions to get all 7000 of my 410 and 28 gauge hulls loaded.

Deprimed, sized, tumbled 300 ish cases for the 303 Brit, and length sorted.

Have about half I need to trim and chamfer to be ready to load. Now I just need a non windy day to get one more range trip in for a final to figure out the new load of varget and 150 gr FMJ loads before I go to town on the scale and press.

Was bored last night and had some free time.

Finished the rest of the 303 brit cases and primed 200.

Supposed to be a decent weekend, so hopefully the wind is not too bad to finish the load development and load some ammo.

Winter cleaning of rifles, going to be a long month...lol

The bore scope is worth its weight in gold, especially when it comes to removing the dreaded carbon dough nut.

Brought the press and other tools in from storage. Restarting reloading because I can find factory for my 270WSM. So I decapped/sized, prepped and primed 50 for it. Had my 5 year old girl help me with primer pocket cleaning and chamfering while we watched football. Double checked everything while I primed.

Was great to get back into it

Prepped and tumbled about 100 brass for a 243. Finalized my load this weekend so I can start to load up.

Did the same for the 303 brit.

Sized and tumbled just over 350 brass for the 44 mag. This all on a single stage press.

This pushes me to a questions for you guys?

How much bullets to you load up and have ready of any given caliber? 50, 100, all supplies of brass/bullets you have?

I have over 500 brass and bullets and more than enough powder to load up them all for the 303 brit, but is it in the best interests? I know they won't go bad, but in an hour I can have min 50 loaded, so do I need to make them all?

Here’s my run down on loaded rounds…

.38spl: 300
.357mag: 600
.44spl: 200
.44mag: 600
.45 Colt: 600
45-70: 200
.223 rem: 300
6.5x47L: 250
6.5CM: 350
.308win: 350
.338LM: 150

I try to load as I shoot and rotate as best I can. Like tonight, I need to finish the 45-70 to bring me back to maximum. I have lots more components to load for each caliber….but I’m only one shooter. And it’s nice to have excess capacity at the ready. For example, all of my extra brass is fully prepped and ready for primers, powder, and bullets.

I do pretty much the same but when it comes to Varmint rounds I load till I run out of brass or bullets. Nothing worse then wanting to go shoot a gopher or two and have no loaded rounds.

Default changed scope height

I changed the scope height on my Husky fn98, so now I can use the safety. then built some sighting in bullets for it. I've been waiting for my truck tire to be replaced so I can go to the range and test some 195gr 8mm bullets and RL15. Now I have to wait for better weather.

Put together another 50 rounds for the 303 brit, 150 gr FMJ.

Then spend the rest of the time working on my office chair instead of making 50 more rounds. Nice to be able to sit in comfort at the loading desk.

Default Gong Joe Annealer

So first time annealing on my Gong Joe annealer (made in Quebec). Determined that 6 second burn time was the sweet spot and annealed 100 30-06 brass. After the weekend is over (many things to do) will deprime, FL size, trim, tumble and built some new rounds.

I try to keep 100 loaded for each rifle except for some of the plinkers ( 30-30 w cowboy loads) then I keep 200...
I replace as I use, in lots of 20-50 depending...I try to keep 3 years worth of shooting inventory for all calibers at all times.. some years i shoot more than others but I generally have 300-500rounds worth of primer, powder and bullets for each. Most of my calibers I have 200pcs of brass.. I load of 13 rifles.

22lr my goal is to have 10k+ on hand and keep replacing as i use as much as possible...generally I buy a brick or three anytime I can or find a decent deal...

This is what I have been doing so far, and its nice to know others exist.

My worst nemesis is looking at say 400 bullet tips of any given caliber and thinking I'm almost out, and start shopping for more. I REALLY have to try hard to tell myself that is a lifetime supply for most people, and curb the "NEED" to stock up.

Now that my rifles are all calibrated onto good loads, I will shoot less.
I started loading last Jan, and shot over 1000 rounds thru my rifles since then, so I'm still trigger happy.

I am looking at building a bench rifle for plinking fun, but I already have over 1000 tips total in a few weights, 1K primers, 200 brass, 8 lbs powder and I don't even have a receiver yet for the build. LOL, I know an extreme hoarder!

I finished loading some 6.5 Badcat rounds with H1000 and 143 ELDX's for for the Ruger#1 that our dearly departed member sullijr used to own. It is now with his son .
He will use it for a mule deer draw tomorrow .
D.Henry chambered the Ron Smith barrel on it and it is still a very fast and accurate rig!
