Default Taking Dad.... Easiest access near Edmonton

Good day Guys and Gals....

I am taking my father either today or tomorrow for couple hours on his last ice fishing trip. He's quite frail and 82 so I am looking for the easiest drive on access near Edmonton.

Was thinking Jackfish or Mayatan. not looking for record numbers or sizes of fish just want to go out.

I'm always fishing Wizard and south sio am not aware this year of which lakes are easiest on right now.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Don.

pm sent. also consider veg. trout pond. road goes around entire pond and you can park very close to pond in case you want to take a break.

I would be sure to put ice cleats on your dads shoes. Could be very slick on the ice. And sunglasses. Good time for snow blindness.

A few lakes are easy access but might be soupy getting on and off the ice.
Wizard is easy to park and an easy walk just a short distance. Right in front of the parking lot at jubilee park (east end) is fishable. Mostly undersized pike but the odd bigger pike too. Small perch.
Wabamun for big pike, whitefish, pikeral and ling. Catch and release. Friends are out today and had no problem driving on. Some big pike being caught.

Good luck where ever you choose. Remember the camera.
