this is a pic of what i have in the shed at home here for coyote's and beaver made from 2 by 6. on the line i have lathed round ones for bigger critters (10" inch dia. tapering down over 3 ft) great for otter. and smaller (5" dia taper down over 3 ft) for mink.
Seems to be the same design as the one I made from poplar many years ago.
I just had a local welder make me an H shaped base for stability and mounted the bottom of he board to the upright coming out of the centre of the H.
has lasted for almost 20 years.
My back doen't allow me to work bent over so I need a beam thats adjustable and more horizontal. I copied the fleshing beam we used at the college, works great, the beams are inter changeable and the height is adjustable. But it's big, not very transportable and doesn't fold up like that one.
