Default Target shooting near Edmonton

Anyone have any pointers/good spots as to where one can sight in a rifle and do a bit of target shooting close (ish) to Edmonton?

I did search some old threads and there were few suggestions, just seeing if there are any locals here who can point in right direction. I'm from out of town so not interested in a range membership.

How far are you willing to travel? Pm me, I may know a spot that would work great. I use it for long rage shooting.

About 1.25 hours west. Lots of crown land. However be aware that it's hunting season right now so guys may not take kindly to you popping off a couple hundred SKS rounds.

I recently endured 6 hours of this crap quite close to me while in Strathcona county bow hunting.

I kept thinking it would be over soon, but it was not to happen.

Out by Blackfoot by any chance? Took the dog for a walk there recently but tried for a few grouse anyways. That place sounded like a war zone. Hunters everywhere and probably 60-75 high powered shots in 2 hours. Never saw a single person that was successful though.

You may want to just check out Phoenix Range off of 50th Street. $40 for a day pass and you can use their indoor rifle range to sight in.

Not there, but on the north side of the county. Occasionally you could hear a gong like sound , sort of like a transmission tower being hit. This was only a couple times an hour.
