Scheer alegedly uses party funds to pay for his kids schooling, confronted on it, steps down.

Trudeau uses taxpayer funds to pay for a full time nanny, confronted on it, vigorously defends it and gets voted in again.

I'm sure there are alot of people out there right now dragging Scheer's name through the mud who voted Liberal. Maddening...

Parties are in part funded by taxpayers.

From the article: A source confirmed to the Sun that the party was paying for part of that education, but that the resignation had nothing to do with that agreement.

I read that to mean he had their blessing to use some funds. If not, he deserves to do the walk of shame.

Yup, just like Trump. We really need that level of honesty, integrity and morality running the country.

That’s what make him a great politician. I think he is great and everyone I know from the states thinks he is great. I hope we get someone like him. He takes no **** and puts people to work! That’s what we need.

I too like Pierre Poilievre, though Rona or Peter MacKay would be great.

It would be cool to have Canada's 2nd female (and only elected female PM) to both be Conservatives. Just to rub the Liberals nose in their own virtue-signalling. Pretty easy considering the intellectual-vacuum of a leader that they've chosen.
I never warmed to Scheer. Supported the party in spite of my dislike for Scheer. Peter MacKay would be my first choice.

Mackay would be a good choice as he would have support in the east
Caroline Mulroney. is another possibility

Yes, Brett would make an amazing leader. Sparkle socks would resign before running against a man of Brett's calibre. Too bad he's not interested.

Being the most corrupt politician in the world and running fraudulent charities makes a person a great politician?

I think it's obvious that Peter MacKay will re-enter politics. He'll handily win the party leadership and would have no trouble defeating Trudeau in the next election which will likely be in less than 2 years.

this might actually work ..

Looks like that’s what it takes to be a great leader these days. I think most will agree that leading a country these days requires a special set of skills. Being corrupt to a degree is one of them. Fortunately for the USA they actually found a leader that believe it or not most like. He is corrupt like all the rest and has a eye for making money. He is a Buisness man and I following through with his election promises. I’m sorry you think these traits are bad but they are all like it. Most just try to hide it. Trump don’t care what people think about him or his methods because they work. Any country would be lucky to have a leader that is up front and will not take ****, who delivers on his promises

that’s a pretty bold statement. Most corrupt leader in the world???? Let’s see some prof and cross references to other world leaders? Or else you are just full of hot air. You don’t have to like him. Just admit you are impressed with what he has achieved

I do find Trump obnoxious and unstatesmanlike, but I have to concede that he's done wonders for the US economy and their jobs situation. They currently have many thousands of un-filled trades positions and record low levels of unemployment; juxtapose that against the utterly treasonous manner in which Trudeau treats Canadian industry and Canadian workers. In that regard I would prefer a Trump type because more of my friends, neighbors and fellow Canadians would be working. You can't eat virtue-signalling & experiencing things differently does not pay the mortgage.

I think he is a nice guy and a decent man, I don't have confidence that he can inspire voters to vote Conservative.

Not the personality you want in a national leader, unfortunately. We need a guy who'll take the knife and stick it, repeatedly. Scheer will make a good insurance agent. The bad news for us is it might prompt Turdeau to short circuit parliament and call another election, before the new leader gets his feet under him.

Peter Mckay is just another Eastern Elitist career politician, who will sell out the west to Quebec and Ontario, I for one am tired of career politicians,

A previous poster said, and I quote, "Trump is one of the most corrupt politicians / person on the planet." He then proceeded to link an article about Trump's fraudulent charity dealings. To this post you replied, "That's what makes him a great politician."

You responding "That's what makes him a great politician." would lead someone to believe that you accepted that he was corrupt. If that's not what you meant, then that's fine too!

I'm not going to admit that I'm impressed with what he's achieved. Do I side with CNN's analysis on Trump? No. Do I consider him to be an accomplished or "great" politician? No.

Well, hopefully we get someone who is electable. Poilievre probably isn't ready yet, he is a possibility though, not sure if maybe Larry Miller would or could, do like him though. Ambrose. maybe, I doubt she is actually willing though. Rempel can't do it. Don Plett would be cool, he won't though. Stubbs desn't speak French, either. Goood question.....wait & see.

From the National Post. I wish people would get all the facts before falling for the Liberalized media sheeple factories. He's a nice guy, but we need someone with a little more abrasive force.

The Conservative Party pushed back on the allegations shortly after Scheer spoke in the House of Commons, saying it was “normal practice” for parties to cover costs associated with relocating the national leader to Ottawa.

“This includes a differential in schooling costs between Regina and Ottawa. All proper procedures were followed and signed off on by the appropriate people,” said Dustin van Vugt, the executive director of the Conservative Party of Canada.

Can't blame Trump entirely,he took his cues from the Clinton's ,since they enjoyed so much success running that scam.
Rona,if she'll stand ,she has stated in the past she would decline.
That leaves Pierre or Peter(which is English for Pierre ,isn't it?)

Trump is not a public servant whatsoever, he is a businessman. While he is hard at work to make America great again, he always looks after his personal gain - whatever it may be. Different mentality altogether. IMHO.

And that is not unlike any corporate transfer of personnel, when I worked overseas the company payed all relocation fees for all families, if you had school age children you were eligible for international school fees, so really don't see why this would be different, and just because it is insinuated in some liberal funded news media ( CBC ) or paper please don't swallow it so quick.

Voters were turned against Scheer, by making him out to be a villain of sorts, which is why I believe that they need a woman for a leader. It will be harder to make a woman out to be a villain, and she should get most of the feminist vote. Ambrose or Rempell, would be excellent choices.
