Default African mounts

Nice looking mounts. I hope to be getting mine back in a couple of months, hopefully they look that good. do you mind me asking what shipping company you used and how much they charged? I'm just trying to figure this whole process out.

Eggy,

I had 12 shoulder mounts done, 3 wart hog skull plates mounted on plaques. I had 6 tanned back skins done. 3 impala, Kudu, Wildebeest, & White Blesbok.

It cost me 5600$ US to get all my mounts done over there with Natural Creations Taxidermy.

It cost me 4996$ US to get them shipped over with Safari Cargo Systems.

It cost me 1120$ for gst and all other charges permits ect with Dale at Talon Industries. 256$ of this was a scam from our fantastic government for storage fees but they never told anyone they were ready for pick up.

Our hunt ended on Aug 4th 2014 and they were hanging on my walls July 7th 2015.

Would I get them done again over there..Yes I would. I do believe you would get a better job done here in Canada but I am happy with them and I would of needed to take out a second mortgage to get them done here in Alberta.

Thanks for the info bit runner. I wasn't sure what kind of expenses there would be once they get here so thanks for that. The other prices seem to be on par with what I was quoted. This was my first hunt over there so wasn't sure if I was getting ripped off or not lol.

Bitrunner and Eggy,

If you go back, check out Splitting Image Taxidermy in Port Elizabeth. They will cost a bit more, but they do by far the best work in South Africa in my opinion.

But that aside, nice trophies there Bit runner. That's quite the haul. Who did you hunt with, and how many days?

Nice mounts!
That is a good Blue!
Love the waterbuck, hope mine looks as stunning.
As per the ear color, my Kudu's ears are lacking the white rim and my buddies are vivid (beacon like) white. Just like our animals in north america, each individual has slight color variances.
Once again BEAUTIFUL!

The white on the ears and the lighter colored grey hide are distinct features of the Southern Greater Kudu. Rockjockey, yours looks like a Cape Kudu, with a darker complexion in the ears all the way through the hide. They are 2 separate sub-species.
One hell of a nice Cape Kudu, I must say!

Nice!
I should be getting mine soon! Sent my money for shipping the other day. How long after you paid Safari Cargo did you receive them? I'm using them and Dale as well.
