Geeeez...i don't think any story will top the dude that took a 30-30 to the head,lol...but here is two of mine.

Hunting alone one time on a really in-grown cutline on the quad, when i came up to and stopped on a T cutline...looked left for 15 sec nothing... looked right and WHOA... a bull moose no more than 5 ft away from me. I have no idea how i never seen it when i first pulled up, but man you think a moose is big when they are downed. They are huge when you are face to face with one. He just kept looking down on me and we had a stare down for atleast 5 min before he lost interest and walked away(NO MOOSE TAG...Grrrr). I was even talking to him,lol i told him if he made one step towards me he was going to get er. Quad was still running i shut it off after a couple minutes. This was in the rut as well.

Another one was on a remote fishing trip, quad in and very far from help if need be. When one cold sept morning we had a black bear pushing the side of the tent down on our heads. That was a wake up call!!!
