My best bait was on Tower Road, 20 minutes from my house in Thickwood. There are bears pretty much everywhere, in the area.

Default Lots of bears.

You can pretty much point any direction from town and you’ll be pointing at good bear country.
Best bear bait ever was all the scraps from a big lobster dinner.
We weren’t baiting bears on purpose that time but any one of those bears hanging around the dumpster would have been a dead bear.

I would honestly go as far away from town as you can. Alot of people used to bait on tower road, agt tower road, aostra road, alot of guides north of the plants spring baiting. But elk is correct lots of bears and very good size bears to be found.

Danged things are everywhere, but I would use caution goi g anywhere near Tower Road these days , the place is full of idjits and garbage!
Creek bottoms and rivers as well as pipeline tgst ate greening up are good spots .

Not sure if things have changed, but you might try the dumpster at Mac Donald's.

Go south on 881 or 63. The further you go less people you run into, keep between Wandering River and YMM and you should be good.

That is still well within town limits until you get across the Hangingstone
