Apparently Gillette doesn't think much of their customers. After watching their recent 'Be the Best Man you can Be' commercial, I'll never buy another of their products.
Thanks for the tips on 'stropping' on your arm! I'll give that a try.

I get razors delivered from Dollar Shave Club, and have for a few years. I shave my whole head 2-3 times a week and have no complaints.

Yikes my face hurts just reading about electric razors and disposables,. HaHa
I do think I may look into the double sided units though if they are cheaper to run, cause yeah I cringe whenever I need to go restock on Fusion blades.

I used bic 2 blade disposals I bought at a store liquidation sale in Yuma 50 5 packs at $2 apiece lasted a long time until they ran out.
I bought a Parker safety razor with a bunch of blades, it's like learning to shave all over again I don't bleed as much now takes a bit of getting used to.

The razors start out at a couple bucks a piece for the direct shipped Chinesium units, $30-70 for most other zinc ones, good stainless razors start around $100 but will literally last you a lifetime. Blades run $15+ for a 100 pack and most get 5-10 shaves from a blade. Some folks have managed to get 100+ shaves from a blade but they are a wee bit crazy.
If you stick with the cheap soap and brush your can get down to a few cents a shave, going up to $0.20-$1.00 a shave if you go for more expensive soaps

I second wet shaving! I got a Parker safety razor and a variety pack of blades to try. A Merkur 34 razor is more common and well-liked. Happy with mine, tho.
Now I've settled on Personna and Feather blades, I get more clean, nick-free shaves out of these than Astra's or similar. A decent to good soap and a bit of patience to learn and you're golden. It's a fun process and makes you feel more manly too.

Been on Harry's a couple years.
Quality control is spotty. Lost a strip of face once. So I am extra cautious on the first pass after a blade change

I bought a Braun, bought the conditioning/ cleaning / and charging station with it. Paid around $350, absolutely love it but it took some time to get used to it, my neck used to get red.

Most of the time I look like I stuck me head in a bag of angry cats from my safety razor I change the blade out every three shave which is 12-15 days for me. Been trying shave oil to help but it doesn't seem like it does.
I have found this to be the most manly after shave

I shave in the shower. I use the liquid bath soap on my face and a trac 2 razor. I can shave every second day and the blades last 6 weeks.
