It was peanut butter, bacon and honey. Until I added bananas onto it.
Peanut butter, bacon, honey and bananas! It's dynamite, especially when sheep hunting. A little of all worlds and a ton of calories to make the next ridge seem possible.

A healthy dose of Imperial cheese spread on a bun. Wrap it in tinfoil and place on the manifold of the truck for a bit to warm it up....

First off they are called sammiches....k.....now the perfect sammich comes in two variations...soggy sammich due to sitting on the bottom of the kayake or warm sammich due to sitting on the vehicle exhaust manifold or quad engine for a bit.......Black Forest ham and cheese, gobs of mustard between two slices of your preferred bread/bun.....

Lettuce, Swiss cheese, turkey, mayo and mustard on a bun warmed up and drink of choice to accompany said sammich is a hot chocolate with a splash of Baileys.

I'll quote my brother here when sitting down in a questionable establishment: "Cheddar cheese and onion sandwich, 'cause no one in the world can screw that up"
He is right - 2 slices of bread, a healthy slice of cheddar cheese and a white onion sliced or diced. Don't need anything else and you can't screw it up. And while out hunting, tastes like $150 steak when you're working your tail off.
But I do like the idea of peanut butter, bacon and honey.... I'll have to try that one.

Whole wheat bread, mayo on one side butter on the other, thick sliced ham, cheddar cheese, mustard and a couple of my home made dill pickles on the side. I can substitute the ham for bologna or salami but the rest holds serve

Headcheese and horseradish.
I don't eat a lot of sandwiches anymore (had way too many back in the day when I worked HVAC and brown bagged it for lunch every day for years) so haven't had one in a while but enjoyed them while I ate them regularly.

Kielbasa roasted on a fire slapped between a couple of pieces of white bread with sauerkraut and beer mustard.
Alternate version. Large tortia filled with the above add onions, banana peppers. Roll it up like a burrito and be prepared for the juices running down your chin. Followed up by a cold beer.

Only sandwich worth eating is one that is freshly made. If I am taking one for lunch, i leave all the components separate and put it together just before eating it. Favourite two are egg salad with lettuce and onion and lots of pepper on lightly toasted bread or Chicken and Ham, Swiss or provolone cheese with spicy mayo Aole, lettuce, onion and lots of pepper on a crusty Italian style Ciabatta bread.

I will second the simple (old) cheddar with onion slice and mayo, on white bread. You can't screw it up. Classic go to sandwich.
If I have the fixings, a BLTCheddar is also excellent, particularly on a jalepeño cheddar bagel.
