This is exactly what I expect in contemporary Canada and the situation IS going to get worse as we allow "experts" to control our society and advise us against all common sense.

Lets see you do something wrong and you get given money.

So you have ADD, I'm sure I did as a kid, but they did'nt call it that, they called it having lack of discipline, and you were forced to sit still, shut up and listen. Guess what, it worked, you learnt to control yourself and mange your urges.

These wack job experts, who get funding from their Lieberal masters need the hard time just as much as the kids who committed the crimes.

I think I'm gonna go and puke now.

Maybe you guys just need a little more fibre in your diet. You don't seem to be looking at all the plusses of this program.

It will stop crime and make us all safer.
It will put a ton of money back into the economy.
It will create jobs for the counsellors, who will pay more taxes.
It will save the lives of the murderers.
It will let them know that "we" care about them.
It will let them know they are just like other kids. Everyone gets a ribbon.
It will take the burden of responsibility off their shoulders.
It will allow them to be kids with the burdens lifted. After all these are the best years of their lives.
It will keep the memory of the victims fresh in the families' minds.
And number 10
It's the thing to do, because the kids like it.

Default Welcome to the New Improved Canada!

This is the new Canada comrades. Learn to embrace it or risk being branded a heretic and freak. Criminals will now be seen as victims, and victims will now be seen as greedy capitalists who are reaping what they have sown by taking more than their fair share of Canadian resources.

It seems this is the path the majority of Canadians (ie: Toronto, Quebec, Vancouver) want to travel down and we had better get used to it. There is hope that maybe things will change and enough people will speak out against it. Until then enjoy the results of this grand social experiment being foisted upon us by Canada's intellectually elite and our massive liberal bureaucratic complex.

EDIT: Just a reminder. Not only are we paying the $100, 000 a year for these hodlums we are also paying the salaries, benefits, pensions, and expenses of the government employees that come up with these ideas. It would seem that government ineptitude knows no bounds.

Gentlemen,

This is what happens when aging hippies (ex-dopers, stoners and freaks) get into positions of authority.

This very bad idea stems from the idea that an individual is the product of the environment around him/her, i.e. is it is society's fault that a person is doing drugs, stealing or even murdering. The notion of right and wrong is itself considered to be both old fashioned and wrong. These ex-stoners are so convinced that they have superior knowledge and insights that this is not even worthy of a debate.

The post modernistic relativism and it's standard line of "what's right for you is not right for me" is really code for "I know what's best and you're going to pay for it through your taxes".

What we need to do is to speak up against such monstrosities and not let the ex-dopers (and now senior civil servants) dictate how we are to govern our society. The road will be hard. You will be called names. (just like I did ) but you need to continue to speak out and not let others intimidate you.

Cheers,
ElkHunter
