Just saw one of the top cardiologists in the city last week....Dr Terry Groves...look him up...asked him about the keto diet. He said he had heard about it decades ago but it was only considered then as a natural treatment for epilepsy and hes' surprised that it took this long to become mainstream.

He said that he feels its safe as long as its done properly (use all fats and not just animal fats) and mixed with some form of exercise. He doesn't recommend it long term and said that I should use the keto diet to get to my goal weight.....then switch over to the mediterranean diet for the long term.....very similar to keto but you get to incorporate more fruit and some complex carbs.

started the keto 4 weeks ago and down 14 pounds . thanks for the tips !
