Default Cheapest Freeze Dried meals?

Looking for the cheapest freeze dried meals. Preferably Mountain House or similar and not Surplus MRE.

Doing a 10 day moose trip. Really only need the supper meals. Oatmeal for breakfast and snacks during day.

As far as I'm concerned - your own, if you have time.
There's plenty of recipes online and its probably way cheaper than outdoor suppliers.

Bone broth is great, especially if its dehydrated or freeze dried as it is light and takes up no room and is a great supplement to your diet when out in the bush plus it tastes great. Check out Bone to Broth, I usually take a pack or two with me when I head out for a couple days.

Thanks but time is a factor this year so I would like to do store bought.

I find most people of the backpackers pantry meals aren’t very good, but a couple of the granola breakfast ones are okay. I’d rather pay the extra 20% and get some good mountain house meals....

Edit: I hate supporting MEC but they have the best prices on MH meals that I’ve found. Plus they ship to your door which is a bonus.

The cheapest one I made myself with a few ingredients from bulk barn. Powdered alfredo mix, a little powdered milk, some butter, and pasta of your choice. If weight is not a concern you could add some Costco canned chicken which is pretty good. We added some Backpackers Pantry dehydrated chicken that was also good but pricey.

I’ve been looking at “thrive” bulk dehydrated foods. A friend of ours has the chicken and some of the fruit and it’s really good quality..

20lb sack of rice would be the cheapest. You get what you you pay for. I wouldn’t skimp.

Moose camp is supposed to be fun. We will be having bacon and sausage, eggs and hashbrowns every morning followed by a light lunch. Supper will probably be burgers, rib steaks and t bones with some kind of vegetable.

You forgot to ask which wild game cook book they suggest and if they could recommend a good taxidermist..
