North and South Korea declare peace?
I read this and am still somewhat doubtful. Feels like an April fools joke. Hopefully it sticks and isn't some kind of game!
https://globalnews.ca/news/4171897/n...of-korean-war/
Quote:
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in embraced after pledging on Friday to work for the “complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula,” punctuating a day of smiles and handshakes at the first inter-Korean summit in more than a decade.
The two Koreas announced they would work with the United States and China this year to declare an official end to the 1950s Korean war and seek an agreement to establish “permanent” and “solid” peace in its place.

I wouldn’t put money on it, but one can hope.
I don’t trust a smiling fat kid. Supposedly that mountain the north keeps nuking is pretty close to collapsing. Bet that has something to do with it. They probably need help stabilizing/containing it.

There's a noticeable lack of commentary from the media on this, but of course the recent visit from the director of the CIA would have absolutely nothing to do with this, so they should be sure not to give Trump any credit at all!
Of course I'm not discounting Kim's recent train trip to China either, but credit where its due to all parties in efforts to make peace. Perhaps Kim has realized he could have more prosperity if he just gave up on the sabre-rattling.

Heard something about it yesterday. If in fact true, and Trump succeeded where so many others have failed, we won't hear much about it from the lefty media types

Perhaps there is another reason for this détente.
China may be refusing to supply basic food needs and oil. North Korea has no food reserves and no prospects for a harvest for months to come.
All those scientists who were in the tunnels that collapsed (Aprox 200) where the brains behind the nuclear program and now are no more. Odds are any weapons grade uranium was lost in the collapse as well.
Whatever the reason it serves two goals. US can finally pull out of S Korea and save Billions. N Korea can get some infrastructure development.
Communism as N. Korea brands their dictatorship, is a hard sell to a starving population, who is aware of the prosperity of China and S Korea.
As for Trump, he gets the credit and deserves it. He should be man enough to apologize face to face for the "little rocket man" comments, and invite N Korea for a State Dinner, with S. Korea & China in attendance, at the White house.

Well you would think there would be all kinds of apologizing happening.
Ben Rhodes, Obama's National Security Advisor should be high on the list. Lots of CNN, MSNBC, and CBC reporters too.

I saw that Kim Jong Un had his fingers crossed behind his back.
