Default Anyone know what these antique tools are?

They are about 7 inches tall, all metal, and cone shaped with a hook on the end. One is more circular in diameter and the other more of an oval. One has a latch on the hook and the other is just a plain hook.

Not quite sure. Is there anything inside the cones?

There is an app called Google Goggles. Just post the picture of what you have and it may take a while but the app will tell you what you have.

The app doesn't allow me to upload a stored picture, it only allows one to take a picture with a camera. These were forwarded to me from our historical society so I can't take my own pictures of them. Cool App.

Could be completely wrong but they almost look like hook appendages for an amputee. I had a friend growing up whose father that had a prosthetic arm with hook that looked almost identical other than having a hinge in the double hook.

Default hog scrapers

They are used for dehairing hog's after being dipped in hot water. Held in hand with hook up so you scrap down on hog with cone and remove the hair without slipping out of hand. Open hook on end was for pulling toe nails off pig's feet. Hook with clip was for attaching to knife and scabbard belt

Smile Forbar!

He is right. They don't work all that well in my experience, then again I wasn't interested in eating pigs feet, still aren't!

Densa, they do work well, but usually in a larger abbatoir as opposed to a farm kill.

We would electrocute the pigs, stick em to bleed them out, then into a very large and very hot tank of water they went for a short time.

Then they were flipped up into a dehairing machine - effectively a large amount of stiff rubber paddles with metal ends that would turn the hog but take most of the hair off. We would apply basically a flamethrower/torch to burn any excess hair off.

After leaving the dehairing machine, that particular tool would be used to yank the toenails off and the inside of that tools mouth would be used to scrape any hair left on - usually by the feet.
