I saw two alpacas at the Calgary Stampede. They were on the walk through the midway. Each was carrying a big stuffed bear. I'm assuming they won them, so yeah there are 'prize winning alpacas.'

They give out prizes for showing up these days. My son once got a trophy for being on the Not winning team in a Basketball tournament So why not give a prize to a alpacard. Everyone gets a ribbon
