Default All packed up and ready to go!

All for the annual GABS ( Great Alberta bird Safari)
As God as my witness I am only talking two guns this trip- no, REALLY!
Just have to throw the motor case and the Dobro into the truck and we's gone!

Too hot and dry down south so the muzzle loaders are staying at home and the hammer double 20 is going to be the starter most days .
There are some BP cartridge loads for the 12 just in case, but more than likely I will shoot it with low pressure smokeless.

I have seen fires started from BP guns in wetter conditions than what is down there these days, and i for one do not want to be " that guy"!!

Will start around Westlock and work my way down to Brooks via Langdon.

Have fun, I am waiting until next month when sharptails and pheasants open in the South part of the province, and then I will do my own trip for a few days.

Good on you brother.

Don't let those birds say no to ya.

My Pops always said that the best bird is the one in front of you on a plate. Ha.

We will be down again later but The ifficial GABS has been moved a bit earlier because it is easier on Tramp who is no longer a puppy !

Perhaps we will see you later in the season. This heat has been tough on even the young dogs. We are hunting only mornings until it cools off.

Well we got back yesterday , another great trip down south to meet up with old friends .
Even though we ran into some issues early on with the heat and one member having to cancel at the last minute everything worked out well thanks to the help of Wsitson Tim, sns2 , Densa44 and of course Oldgutpile!
I have some pics and a short bid clip of old Tramp on a bird but they. Are on my phone .
We will not likely be down again until well into the season in Brooks , deer season and an elk tag are priority now!
Ruffies tomorrow however.....
