Default Tenkara suggestions

I’m looking into tenkara for this summer. Any of you have suggestions on rods and ratios? I’m new to fly fishing.

The previous comment is correct but I will quickly share my thoughts. Search for Tamara USA, and Tenkarabum. Theses are the two best sources that I have found. I have several rod from each of them but end up using an Ito from Tenkara USA 90% of the time. I prefer a furled line with 4 or 5 feet of 5X tippet. As for flies, I usually fish trout ponds with a beadhead Prince nymph, or one of the tenkara flies from Tenkara USA.

I started out with this https://www.tenkaraoutfitters.ca/pro...re-starter-kit. Mostly fished in the Yukon but is likely a good choice for our trout.

Don’t let the local ignorance detract you.
Like all aspects of fly fishing, specific techniques for specific applications. Tenkara will out fish most other techniques in areas that it’s meant for. Of course it’s not a great option in some situations, but neither is skagit in small streams or Euro nymphing in lakes. It’s the right tool for the right situation.
