So the start of 4 straight against the Sens, will this boost us and get us going, or will this frustrate us, and set us back? Last couple games, good efforts, and Rittich played well so I think good things. He was not happy leaving the ice, last night and is an emotional dude, so that concerns me.
Need to get some goals here, to hopefully get that feel back. Need more goals,

Geo , that man has lost 10 steps. Why was he laying on Rittich on the first goal? Ugh . Rittich not much of a chance on that second one. So much traffic in front. Now I would say we buckle down and get one back, but will we be able to get one in the net??

Seems like we've forgotten the very basics of playing hockey, like, our dmen are suppost to be the last guys back, not two Ottawa players. Calgary Flames =

5 in 7 nights is tough. Fatigue tonight maybe ????
Keep waiting for the Flames response but it just isn’t coming. You would think the slow starts would be motivation but nope. Then slipping from a playoff spot would rattle em. Nope. Maybe the two games lost against the Oil will motivate em. Nope. Now this loss to the Sens. Keep waiting I guess but boy oh joy is something broken. They were supposed to take a step ahead this year with two Real good goalies.
Again I return to if they can’t fix it on the ice then maybe fix it on the bench or management.

Doesn't matter who you are playing when you only play 10 minutes out of 60 you are going to get your butt kicked, and they did

There goes the whole "Oilers are only ahead in the standings because they've played the Sens 4x" discussion.

Only caught the last period and that was the slowest hockey I have ever seen the Flames play. Even the announcers didn't sound like they wanted to call the game.

Probably. Or the 7 consecutive years the Flames missed the playoffs.
Or, being a Flames fan since 1972 actually.

That’s why I’m reluctant to point out just how badly the Flames suck right now.....You poor buggers.

The thing is is they don’t suck only right now, they have for quite some time.

It is really bad when you fire a coach or GM in the middle of a road trip. That is a lonely flight home in coach.

A bit disappointed it's so close really, Edmonton was just suppost to go away like they've done.

Update
Winnipeg 65.5%
Calgary 39.7 %
Edmonton 92.3 %

I would be OK with Ward taking that lonely flight, he could take a couple of his non scoring millionaire players with him, if he doesn't want to sit alone.

So do you guys have confidence that Treliving can get you out of this mess you seem to be in?
He strikes me as kinda Chiarelli-esque in that he smiles, generally sounds smart, but nothing much changes when you get right down to it.

I'd love to know more about what's going on. Seems we have a coaching issue, but the more I think about it, the more I wonder if something is going on behind the scenes which hinders the coaches decision:
-Ward:
-Repeatedly bounces Bennett around the line up, 1st line winger, 4th line winger, 3rd line center, 4th line center, benched, scratched, etc., and repeatedly gives minutes to Simon, Leivo, and Nordstrom, who have a combined 2 A over 44 games. Why are you giving PP time to guys who have 2 A over 44 games?
-Gio's play has been atrocious. Bad decisions with the puck, constantly out of position but repeatedly gets trotted out on the 1st pairing when Hanafin and Tanev have been really good.
-Other individual decisions, no time out when the other team is pressing with minutes to go in the third (how many times have we been scored on 6 on 5), systems don't seem to be working with team personnel yet don't see much evidence he's willing to tweak them, playing Markstrom 14 out of 15 games (or whatever it was), SO shooter selection, etc.
Peters:
-Insistence on playing Smith when Rittich had better numbers across the board;
-There were more, I can't remember them.
Gulutzan:
-Refusal to use Dougie Hamilton on the powerplay;
-Insistence on the Brouwerplay, etc.
A bit deeper dive...
-Ward, first NHL head coaching job is with the Flames;
-Peters, had been a head coach for 4 years, never made the playoffs, was unemployed when hired, had a record of 137-138 prior to the Flames;
-Gulutzan, had two years experience as a head coach when hired by the Flames, never made the playoffs, had a record of 64-57, was fired after two years in Dallas;
So our last three head coaches had a whopping five playoff games and six years experience between the three of them with a 51% win record.
So, why have the last three head coaches had incredibly limited experience and, in spite of that limited experience, been making what would seem to be incredibly rookie moves? Are they being told what to do from up high, hence only hiring new guys, as Claude Julian, for example, likely wouldn't accept direction from management?
