These penalties are gonna hurt us. Gotta stay out of the box.

Solid solid road win, Smith was great, they are learning how to play tight games

And with that win we have enough points that .500 Hockey will get is into the playoffs.

Mike Smith 6-0 WOW !!! Think the Flames would trade Smith for Markstrom ??

The Flames didn't have too many highlights tonight.... Ottawa on the other hand had a few or 1/2 dozen

This 3 game set against the Leafs is huge, would be great to take at least 2 out of 3 as they are all 4 point games with the team they are chasing for 1st place in the North, a great week of hockey coming our way.

Smith was unreal good last night.

Bear was a little shaky as expected, but good to have him back.

More kudos to Larsson. I'm loving his game lately.

That 3rd line is on fire. They were the difference maker last night. Too bad Khaira didn't bury that wide open chance.

Leon is definitely nursing an injury of some kind, he's not the same player he was for the first 10-15 games. Still playing some damn good hockey at less than 100% though. Dominated the face off circle the last couple games.

Stoked that McDavid potted that empty netter at the end. Gotta love keeping the pressure on Mathews and making the Toronto media freak out.

If Khaira would have cashed in that short-handed chance, that would have been on highlight reels for a VERY long time. SO great to see the boys playing like they should. FINALLY, something to cheer about!!!! Can't wait for the Leafs, should be a good few games.

On a separate note, anyone listening to TSN 1260 this morning. A caller asked the thought of trading Nurse of the season for a top winger because he is getting good and we will need to pay him. ARE YOU FRICKING KIDDING ME!!!!!
We are finally developing a possible top pairing D-man and we have guys wondering if we should send him packing!! Unreal, must be a Leaf fan......

Agree on Nurse. We don't have anybody else to take that spot. Not Klefbom, Jones. Yeah, he would get you a nice return but... coming around, part of the leadership core, plays big minutes, etc.

Not so long ago I would have loved to see Nurse get traded for another defenseman, now not so much. I have never been a fan of his, however he is growing on me. Steadier in the defensive end, less giveaways and grittier. He looks to me like his confidence is way up and he is not wavering on doing some battling around the net. He is not backing down from anyone and is solid standing up for his teammates.

D-men take a lot longer to develop than forwards. It is a proven fact. There are exceptions mind you like Daughty, but he is just a freak of nature. I think Nurse is just starting to finally show his true potential. At least I sure hope so.....

Yep. About 400 games till they have it all figured out usually. Nurse is just coming up on 400.

Take Jeff Petry for example. Oilers dumped him after 250 games or so. He landed in Montreal and developed a few more years. Now we regret trading him.

Fortunately the new regime in Edmonton is development savvy and patient. Fans not so much.
