all the dogs you listed are good ones and have their strengths.. it'll highly depend on the game you're after, the country you're hunting and your style of hunting.
I'd suggest you hunt behind these breeds (and maybe others) and see what type/style of hunting suits your dreams the most.
maybe attend a NAVHDA meet or club meets and get to see those dogs work so you can make a better decision.
I'm personally into the German pointing breeds, but have friends who don't typically enjoy what I enjoy and they see retrievers more suited to their style of hunting... others spaniels... and others setters... and so on and so forth.
and within each of those categories there are the closer working ones and the wide ranging... the ones who endure the cold and the ones who don't.. the ones who are burr magnets and those who are not... etc
so the variety is wide, and you're better off experiencing each of them and refining your search accordingly
good luck!!

Pick a size that suits your life style . Either a well bred field Lab or a Springer will serve you well for both Upland and Waterfowl. I've hunted with both for years and couldn't really say which is better. Both are exceptional breeds.

Had black lab a golden retriever and my last dog was a gsp all great dogs and great to hunt with but different traits an abilities . Any way all that aside I have a friend that is on his second Nova Scotia duc toller they are wonderful family house Dogs on the small side and also great hunting dogs for upland game birds. They have only been mentioned by one other person on this post .I think it might fit your criteria and you should look into this breed .

If I ever get a dog again it will be an Irish terrier...or two Irish terriers.

Training
Remember what the guys have said; if you don't train the dog you are better off without one. It also makes the dog look bad. If you can join a club that has owners like you that train their dogs. It won't matter what club, any thing will help a lot.
My pet peeve is; guys spend a lot of time and money buying a good dog and rather than train it they speak to the dog in English as if the dog is a very slow witted child. Please don't do that.
