100 pounds is like losing another person. You must feel overjoyed. Congrats!! What an accomplishment...

What really hit home is when I was at the gym the other day I picked up one Olympic plate (45 lbs each) in each hand and walked about 10 feet with it and that is what I have been hauling around for the last 20 years.

If I can do it anyone can, hardest part is dont get discouraged and look at the end goal. I say I would have another 20-30 lbs to go and that will put me about where I should be for my height and age. We will see when I get there. My goal was Christmas morning to wake up and be 100 lbs lighter. (I announced this to my wife last Christmas morning) So far so good. Reading all the threads on here has really helped me out a lot.

Congrats!

As for the hair loss it is one of the bodies natural reactions to stress. Not much you can do but give it time and ensure nutritionally you are getting adequate protein (may need to adjust your macros to lean a little heavier on that element).

Lots suggest collagen, biotin etc. but the only solution is time in my experience.

Keto on!

Hoping that some of you successful Keto-ers would post a written snapshot of what you are currently eating in a day.
I remember Sundancefisher doing so a few months back and found it helpful.

Might be hard to do that. I alot of times eat just once a day. I do what my body tells me. Since being on keto I have retained a pile of muscle and lost alot of fat just by staying keto and following what my body tells me. My 1 meal is mostly protein aka meat with broccoli etc

I'd be interested to know what people do for keto options eating out.

I have been contemplating trying it for a bit now but I spend a fair bit of time on the road for work so eat out lots, seems like your options might be pretty limited.

Lettuce wrapped burgers w/bacon hold the onions, ketchup and cheese unless you know it isn't processed (A&W is real cheddar).

Tim's omlette bites or breakfast sandwich with extra sausage (use the sausage patties to replace the bread).

Nuts, cheese and jerky/sausage all travel well.

If you bring a cooler w/you nearly any homemade & handheld Keto option is possible.

Also as stated once you become 'fat adapted" fasting over lunch is also an option. Black coffee and tea will help keep the hungries away while driving.

Cheers,

Scott.

My travel is fly-in hotel life. Could do some stuff grocery shopping but usually no way to cook so I usually rely on the convenience of restaurants.

Some things sound like they would be easy enough for me to do but some would be tough, I really like asian food like noodles, sushi etc so that would be one of the toughest things to get rid of. I might have to play around trying to find some keto friendly meals I like then once I have an idea of how to do it actually implement it.

Pretty easy with restaurants...

Steak and Ceasar hold the croutons

Grilled chicken Ceasar

Seared or grilled fish and salad

Same burger directions as my previous post and salad

Bacon and eggs/sausage hold the toast and hash browns

Buffalo wigs as long as as they aren't breaded
w/celery and ranch

Not hard to do on the road.

Cheers,

Scott.

Wifey and I have been on keto since the beginning of May and together we’re down 90 lbs
She’s about 2lbs ahead of me
More energy and wifey does not use her C-pap machine anymore

Lost 45 lbs on keto. Have been off for 5 months now and didn’t put any back on. Just had a surgery and I feel being down the weight could of only helped.

I also hope I can get rid of the CPAP machine. When ever I am on my next run out of town I will take it with me but not use it and see how I sleep.

Good work on your weight loss.

I helped a friend last weekend move her stuff from the 24' moving van into the house and I was amazed that I wasn't burnt right out afterwards. Combination of loosing 100 lbs and more energy sure helps.

So where did everyone go when they decided to start Keto?

Any recommendations on websites? To get the basics?

Starvation reducing metabolism.

My average diet

Breakfast. Omelette with bacon cheese ham spinach or combination thereof. With water.

Lunch. Salad with ranch dressing and a side of meat like chicken fish pork beef and egg. Mix in cauliflower or broccoli

Dinner half plate of salad kale spinach lettuce and variety of low carb dressings. Quarter plate meat. Quarter plate date like cheese avacado plus olive oil on salad. 1/4 cup fresh whipped cream with a handful of blueberries

Weight poured off

For me I just used common sense and ate from this list of foods.

I found my appetite was reduced after a week. My stomach seemed to have shrunk.

Snacks were bacon, broccoli and cauliflower with ranch dressing, low carb luncheon meat, whipped cream, cheese with garlic sausage, leftover low carb meat dishes.

Dr. Eric Berg on YouTube/Facebook (free)

Stupid Simple Keto for iPhone or Android (free)

Watch "The Magic Pill" on Netflix

Eat real food, try not to "Ketoize" guilty pleasures and you will be successful.

115lbs down in just over 600 days.

Cheers,

Scott.

Check out the ketogains website to help determine your macros. Use navy body fat calculator website to determine your percentage body fat. I use an app called chronometer to track what I eat.

Of you don't track, it is easy to eat way too much fat and not enough protein. Not what you want assuming that your goal is fat loss.

I have been on and off dirty keto for a few months. Did my first three months non stop and then had a ton of international work travel which made it harder. I tend to go on keto when home for a few weeks and relax a little during the travel. Definitely slowed the progress, but still helps me maintain. Started at 250 and I am down to 225, which seems to be where my body is comfortable at. Keto works. I try to have an early dinner and skip breakfast as my version of intermittent fasting. Just a cup of coffee in the morning and lunch at noon. Working out has also helped..

Had my blood work done last week and my A1c number is down to 5.8 . My whole goal was to get my diebities in check as it was getting out of control at over 7.1 and getting worse (normal is 3.0 - 6.0). I was warned that I would start needing to take needles if it got worse as my normal pill that was being subscribed to me was at its effective limit. I was taking 2 pills in the morning, 1 at lunch and 2 at supper. Now I take 1 at breakfast and supper for maintenance as my doctor described it as if my body doesn't need it I just Lee it out. The weight loss was a great additional side benefit.

I have noticed something different. When I really sweat I smell like vinegar. Totally different smell than before.

Between surgery and KETO I am down 60 lbs.

Sitting at 192. No need to lose anymore weight.
