No argument here.I've generally avoided using weighted flies for the most part over the years,I just didn't like the problems that can arise with casting them and normally opt instead for a sink tip when I want to get down......that is until I took up Spey casting last year. With my Skagit line spooled on,it's now no problem and even fun to bomb heavy flies to the far bank, and I'm rediscovering this new love for the heavyweights.

I just started tying.

But I tied a really simple black mohair leech that worked extremely well for me this past summer in high water.

I see quite a few leeches already, so if that doesn't work I understand, but if it does I would be in.

As I have full filled all the other fly requirements I would interested in doing this now but I have not idea what to tie if there are suggestions I would be willing to give it a go.

I'd be happy to pencil you in if you like and you can decide what to tie over the next week or so?
As for suggestions....I dunno??Wutever your comfortable with, the choices are endless?haven't seen any bucktails yet???
That said,Daceminnow hinted about joining swap?I would think with a handle like Daceminnow,if he should decide to sign on for the final spot he might tie a Dace minnow, haha.(incidentally,an old favorite of mine )

I would like to participate but I just can't find the time to commit as I need to replace the 60 sex dungeons clients lost for me last season first.

That being said if I was to join I would tie up some circus peanuts... perhaps some one should look into those.... browns enjoy them...

Well I see that one lonely spot is left on the swap. Looks like I will be home sick today and if I feel the same I will be off the rest of the week, so I will fill that last spot and tie up some clouser minnows.

Usual swap rules apply:
-first 12 "I'm ins" are in
-DO NOT miss deadline,March 1st,7 weeks,no excuse
-choose pattern at signup or TBA within 7 days?
-include S.A.S.E.
-toe tags optional, include if you want, but I'll be posting group pic of completed flies with member names,and/or,participants often post pics as they complete their flies?
-Flies will be sent from hub early if they are all received prior to deadline?

That's about it I guess?I'll PM my mailing info to participants ASAP after signing up.

Hope to see some killer patterns!

Thx for lookn',Dave
sorry but do we have to inclued return postage and whats S.A.S.E

so after i read your post i think i came up with an awnser to the problem and that would be to take a small zip lok bag and fill it with a little air before closing the envolope this makes for an air cocoon around the flies lets hope it works

Hey guys,
I'm not taking part in this streamer swap, but am taking part in a different swap. I headed to the post office to ask about weight/shipping etc. The the lady highly recommended bubble envelopes with three stamps for anything big and under 50 grams.

Just a friendly heads up.

Just fisnished my batch. Never tied this many of the same pattern...i think i could tie one with my eyes clOsed now. I tied mine on tubes, hope you guys wont mind, hooks and retainers will be included with each fly, plenty of room left to modify them to your liking.

No pics, maybe later today. Will send them out sometime this week.

Thats what I've always used for swaps is those postage paid bubble envelopes, iirc its about 5 bucks for 2?Stuff one inside the other with flies on top and they shouldnt get to squished, esp. streamers where hackle isn't much of a concern usually.Otherwise,i've mailed hackled flies in Sucrets tin,Skoal can or wutever?
