Default Another music Icon gone. Cranberries Lead Singer gone.

Another one Dang. And one of my favorites, Dolores O'Riordan passed away in England. That iconic voice can't be replaced!

She was certainly a feisty one. Loved her voice and unique sound. No notes on cause of death that I've yet seen but some articles touched on her state of mental health, so the subtext seems to infer that it might have been suicide? Sad

I always enjoyed her tunes.

Pretty abrupt and unexpected ending. Police stated that the cause of death is unknown. Sucks.

She had one of the most powerful, amazing voices of any female singer in this generation....a depth of talent that will be missed. I don't even know who you could compare her to? Gracie Slick from Jefferson Airplane comes to mind...maybe Pat Benatar (she has an amazing voice, whether you like her music or not)....very sad, whatever happened.

I always thought Canada's own Holly Mcnarland drew alot of influence from Dolores O'Riordan. As for who Dolores O'Riordanwas influenced by i am unsure.

I am thankful for the 90's alternative music scene. Gin Blossoms, Counting Crows, Collective Soul, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Better than Ezra, The Cranberries, GooGoo Dolls, The Offspring....Current music and musicianship has gone straight in the toilet and sounds like crap. Everything is a choreographed dogs breakfast of lights and lip synching now.

Mcnarland definitely has a bit of Dolores in her style :

Agreed, very sad indeed. I had thought of Alanis Morissette in terms of comparison.

I would compare her to Sinead O’connor .

Been a fan since Zombie in the 90's and have had her tunes playing with me on various forms, from cassettes to playlists. Between Delores, Enja and Sinead I always found my female Irish/Celtic musical fix.
I am completely gutted by her passing.
I know the world naturally will lose talents like her, but Why do they have to be so young...guess I just aged myself.

That Rock and Roll Heaven is getting crowded with incredible talent.

Agree with you. I've been a fan of HM for many years. Sad news about D O'R.

This planet sure is getting quieter.. Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Bowie, Lemmy... the list goes on.

She was an incredible vocalist and will be missed by many and turned into sun by many others. I’m thinking back on a delightful Christmas one year when a girl I was madly in love with gave me a cranberries CD becuase I loved one of the songs. I always think back to the moments shared when I see Adam Sandlers movie click. Makes me fall in love for a brief second again 😊
