Default Ground down

Well tomorrow is day 12 and maybe the last day for my first elk hunt. I've been hunting daylight to dark. I've had a few chances I couldn't capitalize on and let one go on the first day. It's been a great time and I may have the elk bug now.

I was feeling down on the ride home tonight and considering just staying home tomorrow. I think the bulls are pretty much nocturnal and there are endless hiding spots in the area. After a pep talk from one of my buddies I'll be going out tomorrow for sure. I may even take more days off to finish out the month.

Dad always likes to joke that by the time hunting season was over he knows exactly how those rutting bucks felt. Exhausted, bruised, battered and ten pounds lighter. He wasn't able to hunt with me this year and it was tough not having him out.

Anybody else feeling there chances slipping away?
