Default Sink tip leader?

If I'm fishing a sink tip line for Stillwater trout, how long should my leader usually be? Thanks for your advice!

Depending on what kind of sink tip line, but just to be safe 2-3 meters of line standard.

I would say more it depends on the type of fly you are fishing. If you are fishing a streamer or something like a boatman you want you leader to be much closer (10-24") so you have a direct connection with the fly and your line actually is pulling the fly down.
If you are fishing something like a booby or a dragonfly nymph and leaving it sit on the bottom, make you leader as long as you would like the fly to float up.

Default Sink tip leader

Thanks for the tips. I will be fishing streamers, and have had some luck with floating line and a split shot in front of the fly, but think maybe a sink tip is in order.

it would depend on what fly you're fishing and also water clarity for me. Generally I like 3-6 feet of straight fluoro, some guys like longer but I still catch as many fish.
