Fisherfolk
Mods, I hope this isn't too political.
We are now to be called Fisherfolk, not fishermen. There is a video by Sheila Gunn about the new change in vernacular. I don't know how to post it on here. I guess we are now going to be headed for a re-education program.

Fishers of men
'Come, follow me,' Jesus said, 'and I will make you fishers of men.' At once they left their nets and followed him” (Mark 1:16–18).

So Frank see's Tim comin back from the river with a stringer of fish again and finally asks;
"Hey Frank, you always go to the river and catch fish but I never see you fish the same hole twice???"
"Well Tim, I'll tell you my secret. When I wake up in the morning and bobs leanin to the left, I fish the left side of the river, and if bobs leanin right, I fish the right."
"But Frank, what if bob's in the middle when you wake up in the mornin?"
"Well Tim,,, I don't go fishin at all !!!
I've been using "fisherfolk" as a term for years, guess it's time to revert back to fishincrowd

Man fishing = fisherman
More than one man fishing = fishermen
woman fishing = fisherwoman
More than one woman fishing = fisherwomen
a gaggle of men and women fishing = anglers.....

When I started out, I was a fisherman. Then the language changed and fisherman became Fisher. I was taught that a fisher was a member of the weasel family and lived in the northern forest.
And now fisher has become fisherfolk. Please let it end.
