Leaves in the eaves
Does anyone use a leaf blower with that long attachment to blow the leaves out of the eavestroughs? I can no longer climb the ladders or crawl on the roof to clean the gutters. My house is surrounded by trees and leaves are a real problem. Do leaf blowers really work?
How do you clean the gutters?

It will work just by itself. I used an exstension and it did not have enough power to totally clean out. It got the loose ones on top but not the wer packed ones on the bottom. Piker

Have screens installed in your gutters. not only no more leaf problem , but it makes your troughs more rigid.

They work like a damn ... I should have done it years ago!

If you are located in Edmonton I am willing to come clean your eave troughs out for you. You provide the ladder. PM me if you want.

Wow, this is amazing ……I am at a loss for words.
Thank you Red, for a very generous offer.
It has been said before - this is what AO is all about!

Screens
I had forgotten about these screens. I will have to look into them a little closer.
Perhaps the screen and a leaf blower together will get the job done.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Not amazing at all. This life isn't worth living if I can't help another person if I am able. Some AOsmen have been helpful to me in the past and if I am able to pay it forward I will.
After all we are a tribe here on AO. (Our tribe is part of the Halusi nation)

Sorry I wasn't able to get to the coast fishing with you in August. When you come to Deadmontonchuck instead of talking fishing, we'll go fishing right in the city. And have a shore lunch whilst shore fishing.

A word of caution on those screens. Not a great ideal around edmonton or north of here. What tends to happen in winter is that when snow melts, it will rest and form ice on the screens. The result is that water will flow over the screens and not down the gutters. I questioned a guy that was returning them to Costco last year. He wasn`t impressed when winter came along.

My trick is to filter the down spout so it doesn't get plugged. I use the washable furnace filters. Cut a strip about 4" wide and long enough that it when rolled up it will fit the opening for the down spout. Push it into the down spout but leave it sticking up into the eaves trough (2 or 3 inches). The filter will keep the debris from plugging the down spout and you won't need to clean the eaves troughs as often.

Just want to thank everyone for their input. There was lots of information posted for me to digest. Perhaps it helped others too that were considering the same thing. Thanks again.
