Default separated shoulder

I rolled a quad on July 17, 2018 and have a class 4 separated shoulder. I have been seeing a chiropractor since then and have gained back 85% of my range of motion but it does not take much to stiffen up again. I have been thinking it is time to try something or someone else. Anyone have any suggestions in the Calgary area of who has helped them with a bad shoulder.

not sure where you are in Calgary but I have always went to Panther Sports Medicine for Physiotheropy down by South Center mall off of Anderson in the Trico Center. I have seen Darcy there and he has worked on me for multiple things; I won't go see anyone else.

Artie;
Patience.......these are slow to heal..... and if in the end all you have is 85% ROM then that is better than 50%, which a lot of people have....believe me, as I am reminded of it every day....
Good luck.....

I know but a person gets impatient sitting around looking at all the work you have to do but can't get at it.

Hopefully yours heals up quickly, i fell in the Sheep river 3YEARS ago and wrecked my shoulder keeping my head and rod above water while fighting strong current and slippery rocks...i finally got to an mri 2 weeks ago, the best part is that they sent me to the old children's hospital with the child sized mri machine, i couldn't squeeze in the thing , there was a note on the file from the surgeon to not send me to that location but someone booked me in there anyways and now I'm waiting to be rebooked at another location, I'm told it will be a miracle if i get in before the end of this year...

Sad what you get for healthcare if your not hurt at work or in a auto collision.

Maybe I'll get surgery next decade?, maybe not...

Luckily it was not my casting shoulder...

Artie, I dislocated my shoulder and tore my rotator cuff, took 10 months to get my range of motion back and about 20 years for the aching to go away. Best advise I can give you is don’t over do it! When you’re injured you are way more susceptible to injury and that’ll just prolong the healing process. Keep as active as possible without pushing things.

I’m kicking myself in the arse right now (well I wish I could) because I was pushing the physio on my broken leg and I ended up working a screw loose in my titanium plate. I went from being 5 weeks ahead of schedule to facing another surgery on my leg and prolonging my healing by weeks.

Let your body heal man, follow the dr’s advise and just be patient.

There is an option to pay for your MRIs I know that's not possible for lots of people but it is an option

Call Prarie Therapy. Give Brandon a call.

These are the people that work sports medicine in pro rodeo and they see way more shoulder injuries than the average therapist.
They'll know what to do.

Super cool, nice staff, and darn good at what they do.

If you are a bowhunter, grit your teeth and watch hunting videos while you heal...only do exercises approved by your doctor and/or physioterrorist

I blew mine out for the second time a year ago last New Years Eve while snowboarding in Revy. It's still only at about 65% & I still can't throw a ball.

First separation needed surgery to fix.

Been using Therabands resistance bands, they have helped a lot, you can get them at most health or home supply stores.

Just gota give it time, recovery is a long, LONG process
