I remember those! Nice find! Looks like you have some old Sellier-Bellot in the case too? I remember home hardware selling them but my memory tells me they weren't much of a shell.

Those Imperials were the shell of choice on the farm in the 70s/80s. We lived near Buffalo Lake in 'duck and goose central'.

I remember my dad also had a few really old 12g shells with cardboard casings. IIRC, they were purple and had an image of a tiger on them. Anyone recall what brand that was?

When you were earning $3500 a year, $3 boxes of shotshells were not that cheap.
It's not the same dollar.

Yup, 1969 I worked cleanup at a 2wk sawmill shutdown, 2.70/hr. Bought a deluxe version 870 12ga for 104.99 with my paycheck. Then worked weekends doing cleanup at the planer mill, bought a Parker Hale 1200 7RM with the fancy stock on it for 175.00. Still going to high school, living at home.Sometime in 1970 I traded the PH for a BAR in 270win at Woodwards in Kamloops.

I think that Woodwards box is a real looker.
Someone should make up some t-shirts with the front of that box on it.

Who would have made them for them at that time? Nothing on the box!

Even says Woodwards on the headstamp.
That is pretty nifty.
I still can't help as to who made that shell, but thanks for posting the pictures.

Dominion Cartridge Company ( Later named C.I.L. after several mergers)
made the house brand ammo for Woodwards and the T. Eaton Company .
