Got my total for the season up to 4 sheds yesterday, I found 3 and my dad found 2. We were planning to go to bass pro and decided to stop in 204 on the way back to do a little shed hunting before the antlers start to get bleached. I found a skull from a really old buck that had lost his sheds already and less then half of a mile away I found what i beleive is his left shed, as there is only so many deer with bases that big walking around. I can tell the buck had been in rough shape for awhile as there was still quite a bit of velvet on the bases, and to make it even cooler i beleive we have a shed from the same buck from 2 years ago when he was already heading down hill as they were found less then 100 yards apart and look very similar. We think we walked past alot as there is still alot of snow in places. Pray for sunshine.

You bet thats half the fun walking the Dog and getting him to retrieve followed by a Dog treat for reward. Gets me out and exercise as well.

Young Buck & Islander way to go yourselfs. Thats Crazy the two sheds together but not a match.

Sean for some reason I cant see your pics. Its just showing Photobucket icons?

Yeah, I thought for sure they would be a matched set, but no, one is WAY heavier than the other, as well as some other different characteristics ... I thought maybe a coyote was messing with them and happened to bring them together, but there are no tooth marks in either of them. Strange....

I'll try to get some better pics of my sheds up soon. So far, I think the count is around 12-15.

Default sheds

I found a matched set of 5x5 whitetail antlers on the morning of saturday march 19.They were not there the day before and score 125 without an inside spread. That makes 2 sets and 6 singles so far.I only know of one buck that is still carrying his horns now.Cant wait for the snow to melt.

Heres a couple... Including a matched set 6x6... There are going to be a ton under the snow once the thaw EVER starts.

Saw a whitetail and mulie still packing both sides 2 days ago though...

Congrats Snap Shot !! Looks like a great day of Shed'n in your neck of the woods. Some nice weight on your antlers. Isn't it great finding fresh ones with all their natural color.
Keep up the good work Ya'all !! Its just as exciting finding sheds as it is looking at what everyone else is finding.

some more awesome finds guys.. thx for posting pics.

Im heading out tomorrow to that Strathcona Farm i hunt at to see if I can find any sheds from those 3 bigger deer he has roaming around.

Anything I should be looking for from those that are finding some? are you finding them more sticking out on top? or just little points sticking out of the snow?

.

Just points sticking out at best now. Im waiting till snow drops before i go back out.

To be honest with you if the farm doesnt have bails or feeding live stock its going to be a tough go. The deer this year are feeding in farm yards or in stacked bails big time. I have found a few in bins this year and we found a match set laying on a gravel road they are using going to a silage..

This year these are your prime areas for finding horns. Imo

On a side note i came in from work yesterday and checked out one of my spots. Saw easy 50 deer feeding and one little guy sporting both sides. Bleech white antlers

I've been out twice and came home with nothin. This is my first year trying shedin so I'm not expecting much. I'm wanting to go out this Thursday if anyone grime the Edmonton area wants to go out pm me maybe if I actually find one I'll stop questioning whether I'm doing something wrong.

If it's in the county, I am assuming they're whities... so yes I would say they have dropped by now (99/100 anyways). Happy huntin and post some pics if you find some!
