Default CoolBot Meat Cooler

Is anyone using one of these CoolBot A/C controllers for a meat cooler? If so, how is it working for you? We are in the process of building a cooler, we have a used window A/C unit mounted and we are trying to justify the $500 for the controller. Haven't really found any other units that do the same thing as the CoolBot

Thanks

Have been using one for 3 years. It works great. Just make sure you get a unit compatible for the Coolbot, and make sure the AC unit is big enough for your space.

Added half inch pick board to the floor this year and aluminum sheeting to the walls.Clean up should be much easier.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I have checked out their website. We have a sufficiant unit for our space. 8x6. We did the same. Puck board on the floor and are in the process if putting tin on the walls. Mainly going to be outside the shop, but it has a skid, so we have the option of taking it up north (if we ever get harvest done in time to head up lol)

I’d build your own with a couple of inkbird controllers. That’s what I did with my cooler and it hasn’t missed a beat so far. Was less than 75 bucks all in too.

We talked to an A/C guy and told us which wires to switch around .... the problem is that we have no thermostatic control and cant get below 8 celcius.... from what I've read, guys say that it can also ice up.... what controls did you put in to get around this issue ?

You use one controller to sense the room temp and the other to sense the coil temp. They both control a heat source that is that tricks the unit into thinking it’s warm in the room. If the coil temp gets to low or the room hits your set temp it will shut off the heat source and in turn the ac unit. I set the room temp on the a/c at 17 degrees which is as low as it will go. I guess I should also mention you have to relocate the room temp sensor on the ac unit and wrap it with tin foil to the heat source that the inkbirds are controlling.

I also never touched any wiring in the a/c unit itself.
