Default 7.62x51 reloading IVI brass

Does anyone have much experience in reloading 7.62x51? I have lots of brass and would like to reload to shoot through my bolt action .308
I have a bit of reloading. Experience but not a huge amount.
My experience with powders is Benchmark, and IMR4320. I started reloading when powder was hard to get s few years ago, and that the powders that were available.
I have the Hornady 9th edition reloaded guide but it doesn’t have this cartridge in it that I have found.
Thoughts on reloading this? I’m looking to hunt with it and dabble with 6-800 yard shots.
I have .308 brass and have found the capacity to be quite different.
Figured I’d open a discussion and see what everyone’s thoughts are.
Thanks

Your brass is military brass a bit thicker and "may" spike pressures a bit quicker....buy another manual or two..start at the staring load..work up slow(couple grains at a time or less). When you see pressure signs take notice...even if your only half way up the powder listing scale. Most rifles shoot best somewhere in the middle of the powder scale table anyhow....So your brass should/ will be fine. And it will last a long time, I actually prefer the brass myself for my hunting rifles...

If your going to shoot to 6-800 yards you may want to consider buying Lapua. RWS, or some other high end brass as they are a bit more consistent.

Trades I would interested in:
- Sightron rifle scopes, 4.5x14x42mm or 4x16x42mm
especially! with the HHR reticle. (no duplex pls.)
- older 6x fixed scopes with fine X or target dot.

Default Ivi 7.62

I bought all of what was at The Shootist in St Albert to use with my 200gr cast boolit.
Can be a pita to deprime as they are crimped in. I’m resizing the same ones from 2015.
Theyre good brass IMO.

I have found with my ivi brass I need to drop roughly a grain down from regular data when comparing it to Winchester brass. I use it for both my semi auto and my bolt guns and it is great grass.

No experience with 7.62 but I was using 5.56 IVI for a while.
It is a pain to deprime.
Primer pockets need to be swaged to re prime.
Most of the stuff I had may have been fired in a 7.62 rifle because it was so hard to re size it was really painful and slow and not worth the effort. It's a miracle I never got a case suck.

I gave up on it.....

Good luck

Yep had to a buy a Lyman primer pocket swager
And for my loads with cast or jacketed I too had to drop a few grains of powder due to less case volume with thicker walls.
I’m at 37.5grs Varget with 200gr cast boolit and 39.5 with Hornady SP
