Default Please don't ask me to break the law

Was out fishing tonight with my little buddy. Fly fishing for pike. Slaying the hammer handles at Chestemere lake. We caught a little 12" pike and a guy from who knows where asks me if I will give him an illegal fish. I tell him no and he litteraly takes the fish off my hook. Now I'm ****ed I tell him that I'm letting it go and if he doesn't leave I'm gonna call the cops. So had backs down. It really irritates me that people don't bother to read the regs. But ask me to break the law. Sorry just had to rant.

If a stranger tried to take a fish off my line, believe me, the issue wouldn't be whether it was a legal catch or not.

I never had it that extreme but many times I get constantly asked if "Can I keep that" as I say "No" and let it swim away from my fingers. Trout Ponds are the worst. You should see the look on their faces.

A lot of people just can't comprehend C&R.

Why?

In different countries, the concept of C&R can be completely foreign. Its crazy... Luckily in Canada a decent percentage of people understand it, although some of those people need to learn how to do it properly haha

That is pretty mean, sort of like dropping your butts into a mud puddle just so the bums cannot smoke them........

When they have a Safeway bag with a half dozen in them already "spread out with the family that is there playing in the park" and I want to catch this fish, or let someone else catch later in the summer I have to disagree with your statement. I once gave a fish to a homeless person on the river that I would of normally released. His suggestion to ask for the fish was 10 ten times more polite, and needed, than anyone else I encountered.

I get asked the odd time only to find out that the people asking dont fish or know the rules of fishing. i just politely explain the rules and everybody who have asked understand. being polite goes a long way. but i have never had someone reach for a fish i had just caught. netted yes but free handed no.

Downtown Edmonton across from Telus Field. Came out of the bush to talk to me - tent person. He had his own knife to clean it.... Why would I lie about something like that.
