Talking finally happened....at Muir Lake

Hey all....

As most of you know i brought my first fly rod and set up 7-8 days ago, as i always wanted to try it, and have been fishing every day in Chickakoo lake and Sauer for 3-6 hours every day trying to get my first ever fish.

Well...guess what guys...I decided on a change today. Head to Muir lake, and manage t get on the pier.

Within the first 15 minutes I had missed 3 bites, up until this point i had not had a single bite. i walked of the pier took a moment to compose myself and tried again.

4 hours late I had not only finally bagged my first fish... but 4 of them!!!! I managed in my excitement to get photos of fishes 2,3 and 4, but number 1, well i was so excited i forgot!!

Finally did it!!

Fun times at Muir good job. Some days that Muir can be a mean mistress so keep it up.

Thanks guys.

Before i was getting a little frustrated... Now I am utterly addicted.. Been back from the lake 1.5 hours and all i can think about is getting my housework done so i can get back there when it starts cooling off tonight.

Oh and i didn't mention before. all 4 of them were around the 5 to 6 inches. i know, tiny, but they were amazing looking fish. looked really healthy as well.

Right on! Persistence pays off, I suspect you'll be catching a bunch more this summer :-)

Thanks everyone! !

The day just keeps getting better.

So I went out again this evening for an hour.

Just got back.

20 minutes at Muir and caught my 5th rainbow trout.

Then headed to chickakoo lake to see if I could finally get something.

BAM another 6" rainbow.

Yesterday I was still trying for my first ever fish.

Today I ended with 6!!

Can't wait for tomorrow

Yep those lakes were all just fresh stocked so some easy pickings right now. Going to be frustrating going out there and catching little buggers compared to the nice 15-17 inchers I was catching.

I have no issue sharing. My fish over the last few days have been caught on a "Royal Coachmen"

RavYak, I didn't know they were just stocked. As of Friday morning i was still trying to catch my first ever fish. Now I am up to 9 trout. Im having a lot of fun catching those little ones of the top. I am just glad I'm finally catching!
