He'll be expected to come in and score 50 goals his first season and will be forced into playing a posistion or style he doesn't want and will be slowly ruined like the rest of the youngsters that play in Deadmonton

Boston took Seguin #2, and truthfully I think he'll end up being the better of the two.

Sorry to hear about your loss :P. Everyone will have high hopes for the oilers but they will just flounder out like the Flames did last year.

I'd sure be interested in taking some of your cash to Hal, what do say ?...last season I had running bets with co-workers (Oiler fans) where each Flames vs Oilers game was worth $50.00, Flames went 6-0 against the Coil netting me $300.00 and I don't see much changing anytime soon so if ya got deep pockets and wanna do some wagering I'm here..hahaha

Exactly! People also seem to forget that the Oilers lost an astounding 530 man games to injury last year.

I look to this year's champions (and last), and how their dismal seasons and resulting high draft picks turned things around in an incredibly short period of time. Will it be the Kings to take the cup next year?

The Oilers are the German porn of hockey, Everyone knows its out there but no one wants to watch it.

Jager took less money and left to a completely different league so he did not have to go to Edmonton. So much hope and pressure on this rookie to take the dead last team in the league and make them into contenders. Hope the young lad does not fall apart then have the city turn on him.

Well said. If the Oilers are smart, they will give Hall and their other top prospects another year to develop (in the NHL or elsewhere) instead of putting a lot of pressure on them right away, suck for another year and get another high draft pick. Then they can make a run for it in the future years, like Chicago and Pittsburg.

Big name free agents will be willing to come to Edmonton again once they see they have a chance to win a title. We need to have patience.

Yes the Oilers suck right now but anyone who thinks the Oilers future isn`t brighter than the Flames has their head up their *****!

Eberle, Hall, Omark and Paajarvi-Svensson maybe the best of the bunch!

Buying a pile of post lockout free agents, mostly on one year contracts, is hardly the same as having "all the big name guys begging to leave"

Tell yourself what you want though, not often do i hear from Flames fans that are in touch with reality.

You guys forgot about Tom Remmy being the new Head Coach. I think that will be there key to success. A player is only as good as its coaches and vice versa. What they really need is a young tender that will be a franchise tender and won't get hurt. Oilers are always battling through injuries.
