Ok kid wants one for Christmas and I'm not paying over 1000$ on kijiji or ebay anyone have any ideas where to find one online.

there is a huge ps5 shortage I don't think you will find any TBH.
They sell for top dollar right now. I don't think you will find any unless you're willing to buy it from one of those guys.

Especially with this Black Friday craze.

honestly I'm sure he is a good kid and he will understand. Get him something small first and maybe get on a waiting list for a ps5 that is more reasonably priced.

I grew up in a poor house I remember really wanting a super nintendo but ofcourse we couldn't afford it. I remember one day coming home from school they bought me a nintendo 64 and it was on the counter when I came in the house. It was NOT a special day like Christmas or my Bday.

They just got it for me when the time was right and I've never forgotten howmuch joy I felt inside.

just get a ps2 and a ps3 and ductape it together . or line up early at walmart/bestbuy every morning wait for the store to open you might get lucky and theres a shipment .

It took me 2 months to get one for Christmas this year. It took calling 3 stores every single day until they confirmed there was a shipment coming in. Then waiting for 3 hours inside the store to get it. There is a site called https://www.nowinstock.net/ca/videog...soles/sonyps5/

Sure thanks ken. I did have a guy in quebec off kijiji sask that says hell ship me one if I send him an etransfer first. Nice guy but I passed lol.

I'd been wanting one since release but wasn't going to go to any great lengths to get one. I've got surgery coming up and between recovery and an inability to do most of my usual hobbies for a couple months I thought I would step up my efforts. I was following a few tracking websites as well as twitter accounts that post releases. I gave up after 2 months. There's apparently some discord that a person can follow that would give you better odds, but even then that's only a diffence of a couple minutes. I found most times once the release hits Twitter, they are sold out in a matter of minutes. You'd pretty much need to have a customer account made at every possible website you'd be buying from, and have you account stay logged in at all times.

Far too involved, time consuming and frustrating for me to even bother now. I think I'll just dust off my ps3.

Game selection is still pretty limited, even compared to ps4. I remember talks about backward compatibility with ps4 games, not sure if it ever materialized.

Good luck! I would be surprised if you can find one now. I can honestly say I haven't seen a ps5 for sale in person since they came out. I think right now your either dumb luck to find one in a store or pay whatever price people are asking. All depends on how bad you want one. Good luck my friend!

Don't know if you have a Xbox One or not, but the Xbox Game Pass is a really sweet deal and is basically the gaming version of Netflix. Plus you can play newer games on the older system by streaming them with cloud play (you need a decent internet connection).

If you don't already have a Xbox One Xbox Game Pass Cloud streaming works on PC too. You just need a regular Xbox controller hooked up to the computer via bluetooth or micro usb to usb cable. Probably like $140 combined for the controller plus 3 months of game pass. You can also install some of the games to PC, but definitely the cloud streaming option is great.

I am a Playstation guy, I have been trying to get a PS5 for a while now, with no luck.
Closest I have come has been following on Twitter , Best Buy Canada, and set up notifications. Watch it and soon as one comes available jump on it. but I haven't got one as they are gone in minutes.
I did however get an Xbox X. If your son would be happy with an Xbox you stand a much better chance at one of them. Or the S model is available more often.
It gets delivered to your house within the week.

I got lucky enough to get one by following a couple different twitter accounts. I think they were something like ps5 drop Canada or along those lines. Best Buy $650 😃

Got one, game stop has a deal until tomorrow if you trade in your ps4 they give you what it's worth new plus your on a list for a ps5. So I went on kijiji and found a ps4 pro for 300 bucks. Then got 450 on trade for it credit. He said they are getting a big shipment in a few days so I have to wait a few days. Thanks everyone for all the tips.
