Default Bass pro & dogs

Its been a while since I have been to Bass Pro, and will be traveling their with my dog and I don't want him in my truck in this heat. Do they allow people to bring their dogs into the store .

Every time i've been there has been at least one dog that isn't a service dog, i would probably just give them a call and ask.

Yes -- they'll even ask if the dog's allowed to have a treat as you go in.

Yes they are. Not allowed in the fudge shop due to government regulations.

Cabella's required me to take my calm well mannered old Golden out of the store.

WSS complains if I show up without him.

My pup travels with me most everywhere but has never stepped foot into any retail store. My opinion only, animals do not belong in retail stores.

It's not something I'd expect or demand of a retailer, but it can be beneficial to them. I don't take my dog out shopping, but when I'm on vacation that means she's along too. If I am in need of something and there's a retailer that allows dogs and one that doesn't, naturally I would pick the one that does. While I have made provisions to my truck to prevent the dog from unlocking the doors or rolling down the windows when I'm not there, I don't entirely trust people. There are some half witted wanna-be heros out there who would smash a car window on a hot day to "save" a dog without realizing the car is running and the a/c is on. It has happened.

No dogs in cabelas because of the food are, that's what was explained to me. Bass Pro the fudge shop has it own separate space. WSS is the most dog friendly.

Hmm

I've never seen any dogs in BP. Sounds like a good way to socialize a pup.

Last year saw a large rottie drop a big pile in front of the elevator doors on the second floor at BP at CrossIron...the look on the owners face while searching for a bag was hilarious...happens apparently ...

I'm a huge animal lover but I don't get why people bring animals into any store they feel like it.

I watched an old man yell and hit customers in a store who tried to pet his dog. This wasn't the usual stores you may see an animal in and the dog wasn't needed for assistance of any sort. He had a large German Shepard that was very well behaved and very adorable that people wanted to say hello to.

Instead he picked a fight with everyone like a cranky old man.

I can see them being allowed in pet stores. Not so much in outdoors type stores. My goofballs will likely never see the inside of either.

Could never see the reason behind taking your dog to the store..... would you bring a cow or horse into a store . They are animals they belong outside. Service animals are a different thing.

Do you take your cow or horse on vacation with you?
I can see the convenience when you're travelling with your dog. If it's 35° outside and you have your dog with you, but want to shop...what do you do? As long as a dog is well behaved I don't see a problem with it.

I don't see any harm done bringing a pup into a store such as bass pro as long as a person is prepared that is. I mean I bring in a small back pack full of various things for my young son. Shouldn't be much different. When my dog is an adult I wouldn't bring him in anywhere but who doesn't love a puppy, especially a hunting breed in an outdoor store.

Yup.
Service dogs....not even a question. They should be welcome everywhere.
Other than that...keep your dog at home

But then how will I receive the emotional validation I enjoy so much from inconveniencing others and being the centre of attention?

When my Aussie was a pup I would find reasons to take her to places like bass pro shops... It is a great training tool and very stimulating for the dog. I spend a lot of time with my dog and she is an incredible companion that can be taken anywhere with no issues. So if a dog is well mannered and listens to command what is the harm?
