Default Vegas in January??

Hi folks. Thinking I’d like to take a short getaway to sin city soon. I’m wondering if the place is much different then. Would it be boring compared to the summer? I’ve been a few times but not in the off season.
Not big into gambling, but enjoy the shows and might be into some tours.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The summer is the off season in Vegas. January is a great time to go.

Yes. Go.
Check the sportsman shows dates. If SCI is on, hit it. Well worth a membership and entry fee.

Just be prepared for the possibility of cold weather. When the cold winds come blowing through in the winter, you’ll wish you’d brought warm clothes. Not always, but it can happen. But yes, a great time to go.

I have never been there in summer and have never been bored. There are still lots of shows running, Battlefield Vegas is your best bet to shoot.
There are not a lot of pools or pool side bars though.

Vegas in the summer is brutal, you're in the middle of the desert. 40+ degrees

January is a great time to go.

Are u a hockey fan. I’ve heard from a few buddy’s that the Golden Knights games are a blast there at the T-mobile Center. Maybe they will be playing when u are there. We went and seen Criss Angel when we were there I would go back to another of his shows very entertaining.

Sign up for a Caesars rewards and MGM Mlife card online and login and look at your offers as it will be a lot cheaper than what’s posted. Stay someplace central like Planet Hollywood to save yourself some walking.

Golden Knights games are amazing, good show put on, nice arena, but pricey, definitely worth price of admission though if you take in the pregame festivities out front it helps.

Marc Savard used to have a hypnotist show, he's a Canadian boy, was hilarious and great show.

Absinthe in front of Ceasers Palace, if you know...you know. I would have to say if you dont mind some vulgar humour, some amazing talent(I believe most have been on americas got talent) you are in for one hell of a show. For me, hands down best show in Vegas.

Dick's Last Resort, go eat some decent food, decent price and get treated poorly by the staff(more funny than hurtful) can be a good time with a group of friends.

Absinthe was hilarious and crazy we all loved it. However like stated if your a Karen and easily offended dont go. I hate Vegas in the summer when its plus 39 out and your dying. Nov,dec, jan are good times to go.

I've been trying to get down to Vegas to go fishing for bass in the area.

The summer is the off season in Vegas. January is a great time to go.

End of March, the dessert blooms and comes to life. Lots to do and see besides doing the town and the climate is still nice.

I like old Vegas. Freemont street has no equivalent on the strip. We stay at the Golden Nugget. They have some real cheap rooms all the way to very plush rooms. Right now they are advertising rooms as low as 50 bucks, and they are waiving the daily "Resort" fee. We had some friends rent one of the cheap rooms last time we went, decent room if you aren't spending a lot of time in it, good condition, just small. The "Top of Binions" steakhouse across Freemont is a great old fashioned steak house with great food at very reasonable prices. There are a ton of shows to see in Jan to March. If you want to rent a car book it before you go, even before Covid rentals were often hard to come by in peak season.

My friend just came from there, she said bring lots of money, Vegas is not as cheap any as it once was. $8.00 for a drink, and $35.00 meal which was nothing fancy.

Sundance helicopters grand canyon tour....awesome....book last tour and you fly the strip on night fall.
Battlefield las vegas...awesome.
Counts Kustoms...if your into cars etc
Vegas Golden Knights...if hockey is your thing...nothing compares to this anywhere for hockey venues.

Then rent a put put cheapoo car and tour around the desert too.

Stripe bass fishing?

things to do are endless without gambling etc.

The Shot show will take place January 18 - 21, 2022 at the Venetian Expo and Convention Center everything from pop guns to bazooka's, I went a few years ago a real eye opener.

I’ve been to Vegas in December. It’s a city that never sleeps so there’s always something going on. Found the temps to be cooler like fall but still a nice change from Montana. If you consider January the off season I’d rather go then as there may be fewer people by a couple hundred….

The Hoover Dam is really good to see once, and if you are renting a car might as well see it.

Might shoud strange to some but I took the wife on a balloon ride because she wanted to go forever, and it was a blast. Someone does that for a living and gets to live in Vegas, where there is a car show every 2nd day. Im doing it wrong lol.

Anyway, those are my 2 suggestions, and if you are a burger guy try In n Out..

We did a raft trip starting at Hoover dam, down to Lake Mead, even saw some Desert Big Horns on the way.

This.

I missed a SHOT SHOW by 2 days one year. Didn’t even think about it till I saw the signs.
