Default 4650 firearms found in TSA airport security checks in first 10 months of 2021

https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/20/us/at...are/index.html

Most of them loaded.

Atlanta today had the airport mass evacuate as a guys loaded hand gun was discharged going through security.

Crazy to think people try to take guns on planes.

It shouldn't be a surprise in today's society, there are over 400 shooting incidents in Toronto alone every year, and most involve illegally obtained firearms.

Anyone remember how Glocks were supposed to be able to pass though a metal detector and the fearmongering that went with it? Maybe these fools took it to heart lol.

Thumbs down

Wow, sure sounds scary. Almost CBC scary.
Until you google the number of airports in good old US of A (5200+) . Now it's suddenly less than 1 firearm per airport in 10 months. Given, the airport in town of Armpit, Nebraska gets magnitudes less traffic than LAX, but still. Sensationalism at it's finest.
Edited:
My bad, just noticed it's on CNN. Aren't CNN and CBC like twin brothers?

It’s crazy that that many people feel compelled to bring a gun… in a carryon bag onto a plane.

Number per airport isn’t really the issue. On a per flight basis… it’s tiny. However it comes down to people being hugely forgetful or just plain dumb. What would be interesting is how many were prosecuted to a conviction.

Watching border security shows… you see Americans coming to Canada and not declaring a firearm. Usually they deny it’s there until it’s found and they claim they forgot or oddly enough to to CBS that they have a permit and the right as an American to carry the gun.

The good ones come to the border… pre filled out all the paperwork. Guns are counted and verified and they are on their way.

Happening 11 times per million passengers in 2021 versus 5 the year before.

Must take a special mindset.
