Default Heads Up - New scam out there targeting Shaw customers

Hey fellow AOer's, I recieved a very real and official looking email from "Shaw" cable. Everything looked real except the phone number. I noticed that because I was going to call Shaw, the number on the scam email definitely does not match any number I have ever used to contact Shaw.
The email claimed I owed $330 on an authorized pre-payment that didn't go through. I don't have authorized pre payment on my Shaw account, when my bill comes, I pay it. So I logged into my Shaw account (NOT using the link provided in the email. Sure enough there is no outstanding balance. Will call Shaw today to let them know too.

I've had the same sort of email but with the attempt to look like it was my Telus account. Same thing... I knew it was fake because I don't have a pre-authorized payment plan. People really need to be careful because of all the scams going around.

Default Reverse Scam Time!!!

Call them up, and tell them that you will pay them DOUBLE, but they have to send you $50 for your Bank's International Wire Fee by E Transfer.

See how long you can keep them on the phone line. Report back the results.

I am currently being scammed by Shaw themselves. I cancelled my programming on Oct 15. Then on Nov 3 another payment goes off my account. I phone them and have been given numerous REQ numbers to get my refund. Still nothing.....

Usually takes more than two weeks advance notice to stop payments

So giving notice on the 15th is not long enough for a payment going off on the 3rd of the next month? I can maybe understand that, but another 2 weeks to reverse it?
