I’m well aware it’s just a return of taxes I’ve paid but I ain’t complaining about getting it.

I’ll say this much, it’s far better than what my provincial government has done for me during these tough financial times.

But our premier complains lots about the turd’s taxes and screaming about autonomy while raising taxes here and not giving a fuel tax break like yours at least did, so he and his governing party must be great because they talk a lot of smack about the Feds right,? Lol

Pretty good analogy right there.

I donated all of what was deposited ($445) to the Conservative Party.

Oh I’m so thrilled that our progressive commie masters are giving us peasants back a fraction of what they are stealing from us with the climate action scam.

Wonder how giving everyone across Canada $400 will impact inflation. Cause everyone is just going to put their windfall in the bank or pay off debt right?

Lol.

My business paid roughly 12x the carbon tax that I did personally, of which I get exactly $0 back.
A quick tabulation of what I paid personally in carbon tax on fuel and gas, tells me I've paid more than I'll be getting back, so I'm really in the hole because of it.

Sorry if I'm not as enthused about the thieves giving me a tithe back in exchange for an attempt at voter leverage.

And for those that truly are "getting back more than you paid," which are likely very few, now you know where the bulk of it comes from. Businesses that already provide an income.
Consider it a forced raise.
You're welcome.

You are 100% correct. We did get to write it off.
For ease of using round numbers, let's say you got back 30% of it at tax time. That means roughly 70% of what we spent on the carbon tax is gone.

On personal taxes we got the nearly the same value in the form of a credit last year, but it was right on our personal tax return as a pre-entered credit.
The Liberals just realized now that a cheque in hand is viewed as a huge positive, while a tax credit for the same value goes unnoticed.
King Ralph figured that out decades ago. Lol.

While I won't argue that it's nice to see money come back from the gov't, you're bang on there, I would rather they don't take it in the first place if it's not needed.
Like this I can't help but view it as just another means of wealth redistribution.

So far nothing!!!! If they want to send me what they have sent others, for the next 6 months then might worth it. What they have gouged us with just this year it still won't add up. Carbon tax is taking care of someone's world adventures and world spending while it leaves a carbon footprint all over the place. It's not me. My footprint is go to work and back in a small car, heat my home, BBQ, keep my food fresh ect ect. All the real luxury's of life

Honest questions.

If you think everyone should be excited about getting a portion of funds extorted from them, you are wrong. If you think everyone should be excited that a pittance is returned from a scheme that has not reduced one atom of carbon, but actually increases it, by setting up an entire wing of an office building to run this division of the government, you’re wrong.

I hate the ever-expanding government and despise my tax dollars wasted. If you are thrilled by this nonsense, good on ya. I’m glad you derive pleasure from it. I can never be anything but sick at this insane misuse of tax dollars.

You have no right to try and shame me for seeing the stupidity of it either.

You can praise Justin if you like, as that’s the sole purpose of this nonsense, not this fella though. Many Canadians were fooled today though.
Thats to much thinking for me would rather be out at the cabin ,And spending my gov money ,I listen to to many whiners at work , off to the cabin for 2 weeks . Cheers

That can't be the "Climate Action Incentive" (aka Carbon tax rebate)... you would have to have a dozen kids under 19 living at home... Only thing I can think of is you didn't get the last payment and you have 3 quarterly payments in one lump. $606.75 would be the correct amount for that.

https://www.canada.ca/en/department-...r-2022-23.html

For those who say they got nothing, did you file a tax return last year? That is supposed to be all you need to do to "apply". Also, if you live rural you need to file a Schedule 14 to get the extra 10%.

It’s a communist wealth transfer program. But it seems to be working for the liberals.
Diesel was two dollars per liter yesterday I pass that costs on to my customers. They can use their payment to help me pay for my fuel.
If you have the ability to charge the extra carbon tax to your customers then good for you. If you are on a fixed salary or wage then you lose.

I did the same, customers are paying for it.

These rebates are like getting a tax refund. If you get one you did something wrong. Unless you like giving the government interest free loans. But people are lemmings so....

Follow the link I posted in post #77...

That looks like the amount for a couple plus the 10% bonus for living "rural".
