Default Little federal kickback today for Albertans

Anyone see it in their bank account? Was enough for a month's power bill.

Thanks for telling me what it was for. Seen this morning and was curious, but forgot as the day went on. Didn't quite cover the power bill on my new build for the month

My wife got hers, I haven't gotten anything in my account yet. Probably because they know I'm gonna go spend it on carbon polluting fuel for my truck.

I found it quite significant.....relatively speaking.

$404.50 as a quarterly payment for my Wife and I.

My Son in law got $539 for a family of four.

I haven’t figured out how the government came up with those numbers yet.

They did. Only a portion of what gopher spent I’d imagine though.

If you’re happy about getting back a portion of an inflationary nonsense government-growing boondoggle, good on ya. I for one am not. Ridiculous to think people are happy about it.

Look the sheriff of Nottingham dropped by and left me a dollar after fleecing me yesterday for $20. What a swell day. He’s really looking out for me. Don’t know why the neighbour is upset, this is quite the windfall here.

Only one spouse receives the payments.

This payment is a double payment. The next payments in Oct and Jan will be half of those amounts.

This is the identical amount that I got back last year - but the gov't figured out that by including it in the tax return no one realized they were paying out the money - so they created another whole level of beurocracy to send out quarterly payments. Wasting more money just so they can up the political point level.

its not a kickback, its just returning the tax they take on the life we live in Canada.

So as you whine and bitch about people that whine and bitch; you instruct them to move back home with their parents.

When will you be moving back home with your parents?

When mom is pouring milk on your corn flakes will that solve the whining and bitching problem?

Honest questions.

If you think everyone should be excited about getting a portion of funds extorted from them, you are wrong. If you think everyone should be excited that a pittance is returned from a scheme that has not reduced one atom of carbon, but actually increases it, by setting up an entire wing of an office building to run this division of the government, you’re wrong.

I hate the ever-expanding government and despise my tax dollars wasted. If you are thrilled by this nonsense, good on ya. I’m glad you derive pleasure from it. I can never be anything but sick at this insane misuse of tax dollars.

You have no right to try and shame me for seeing the stupidity of it either.

You can praise Justin if you like, as that’s the sole purpose of this nonsense, not this fella though. Many Canadians were fooled today though.

Would there be money in your account if you hadn’t paid carbon tax and it’s driving force of inflation it causes over the last 5 years?

But, and I know as intelligent as you are this conversation is just frustration and venting, such as it is the money is gone. We all paid it. Today we got a little back, with the promise of none coming. Gas in Lloydminster at UFA is .40c cheaper than competitors a Mile away, we need to celebrate the little victories.
No?

$539.50. Didn’t expect it and didn’t know anything about it until I seen this thread and checked my account.

Probably have to pay it all back at income tax time. There is always a catch.

I got $450 for the 2 of us. It's not taxable.

Shoot I'll take it, going camping again in a few days to saskabush and it will pay for gas, or camping fees and gas one way - however a fellow wants to slice it.

Best thing is I still don't have to vote liberal .

Default how is

It divided one cheque per household or every adult 18 years old and working? No spouse to steal it. I live with two adult children in my house.

I’d gladly celebrate gas 40 cents cheaper. I’d have to drive to Lloyd for it though. 😁 You are absolutely right though, frustration and venting because of it is exactly what I’m doing. I’m glad you can see some good through the BS, I can’t though. The cow manure must’ve hit me square in the eyes, because I only see crap. 😂😂😂

$404.50, better than a kick in the butt with a snow boot
