Default Another Racoon Thread

This picture was taken on a trail cam from a landowner I have permission with. Not gonna say where exactly but its in the Whitecourt area. From October this year.

Me neither, I just seen one the other day I'm working in Saskatchewan right now. Reminded me of this..Also I finally figured out how to attach photos from my phone.

Very interesting, I remember hearing stories about them being around moose lake about 20 yrs ago. Didn't really think they were this far north. Hope you get em. Post pics of the coon skin cap

Hopefully they don't take hold out there!
They'll be hard on the up land birds and waterfowl during nesting season.
Also there a HUGE pain in the @ZZ when it comes to tearing up garbage and are hard on crop fields.

Dolly's Delicious 'Coon from Sylvia's Family Soul Food Cookbook

1 5-lb raccoon
3 large onions
1/4 lb fatback
2 tbs red pepper flakes
1 tsp seasoned salt
2 tsp salt
2 tsp pepper
2 tsp Accent (optional)
2 cups chopped onion

You simmer the raccoon for 6 HOURS! before baking it for another hour.
