Ivory teeth from elk
Hey guys
Being this is my first elk I've ever shot, never had to worry about such an issue...what do most guys do with the ivory teeth?? I've heard just keep em as a keep sake, or make the into some sort of jewelry ect ect... Anything else I'm missing to do with em?
Thx

There are only 3 animals in the world that grow ivory.
1- elephant tusks
2- walrus tusks
3- elk teeth
So to me, it's quite the treasure to hunt an animal and collect such a rare item. Shoot enough of them and you can sell it on the black market for big coin....oops, did I say that out loud? Lol

actually according to the internet more than those critters have ivory..
www.gemstoneeducation.com/Ivory_2.htm
Some of the animals that produce Ivory are elephants, hippos, walrus’s, elks, wart hogs and even marine mammals such as the teeth of orca’s and sperm whales.

I'm going to make a deerskin leather shirt with all the elk teeth my hubbie has given me. It's a traditional garb with the Cree women from long ago.

Keep them, make something out of them if you feel so inclined.
And if you don't have enough, buy a few from Halfords. Cost about a $1 each......(That was an eye opener.....)
