I was wondering who from AO is going to the base for the Muzzle loader hunt. I was thinking of seeing if anybody wants to pair up or do some group deer drives, I am hunting solo so if your interested let me know.

2 of us coming for muzzle loader season. 8th time up (4times for deer, 1 moose and the rest as 'help'). Might be up for that...

I was there several years ago with my dad for his muzzle loader hunt we had a good time. It was alot more civilized than when i was there for my hunt (first rifle season) about 8 years ago. Looking forward to walking the coulees and thick brush. Iam bringing my .50 Hawkens iron sight to push bush should be a challenge!

yup 3bulls were on the west side of hiway in an open field. dont ask me exact location, was doin 100kh. the signs say the base runs roughly 8km as you travel hiway. roughly 2km from beginning of base headed south.

Anyone hunting elk on the base?....

I am hunting elk off the base. Good to keep in touch as we can help each other out. I know where the herd(s) are crossing in and out of the base in the South....

Draw only. We will be up for the first draw next week for deer.
Looking forward to it. I have the Muzzleloader sighted in , and shot over 100 shots on that thing already. It is fun, getting faster at reloading. I do not know how they did it in the civil wars in USA with people shooting at you. I would get good at reloading fast.

Thumbs up Information

I am heading up there for the 10 -12 of December for deer. It is mine and my buddies first time up there. Does F&W send out packages similar to the bison draw with information such as directions to the meeting site or is there a number a guy can call to get the info. Going in blind enough already. Any info would be appreciated. Looking forward to it. Have heard great things about this hunt.

Pretty excited after firing a 'few' shots through the front stuffer today in preparation for Thursday!! Got It shooting really well with groups touching at 100 yards and bang On at 200 too!

Hoping some deer have been pushed in from off the base... Any truth to the rumor this could be last year on base for a while?
