Default Got Lucky

I drive a semi and I was halfway between Edson and Hinton and passed what I thought was garbage in the ditch, but at the last minute saw the white eagle head. I went to Hinton and got unloaded, and drove like a maniac to get back. There was a guy parked right beside it and I jumped out of the truck to nab it up before him, but it was still alive and he told me that he called the Fish Cops.
So I waited around until they showed up and asked him if it died could I have it. And unfortunately it died. A $10.50 permit later he's mine. I already found a guy to do the mount you can see his work if you look up on Facebook- Great Grey Ventures Taxidermy.

One neat mount I saw had the eagle on a branch holding a 1.5 pound perch....not sure if eagles will eat perch but it is a nice mount.

I picked an immature bald out of a ditch once, got the paperwork done, took it to the taxidermist. The bird was kind of broken up so an open wing mount was out. I plan on the bird being on a stump or the branch of a stump, I plan on it being a corner mount, and in a glass case with an oak frame. As to something in its claws or scenery, I hadnt gotten that far yet.

Good luck.

Had three golden eagles and one bald eagle on on our of our gut piles just north east of Robb a couple weeks ago. Have seen lots of bald eagles this year in the area. Nice to see for sure.....
