Arguably a mule doe is easier to kill than a porcupine...and they are easy to kill.

Not meaning to hi jack, but I am in a similar boat.

I have a general WT tag in 502 and am getting desperate for anything. I will even take a meat doe. After last Tuesdays snow fall I counted 20+ sets of deer tracks crossing the drive way into the alfalfa field from the slough on our property.

Every morning there are tracks and evidence of deer eating the ornamental shrubs 20 feet from the front door.

How do I harvest one of these ghosts?

I want to get this out of the way so I can concentrate on elk.

Any tips would be appreciated.

I don’t know why you guys are against me now???
Some like to drive and hunt others like to sit on the tree the whole day, it’s a preference.
I don’t tell you guys how to hunt

Lol. I did read in other thread today that it works. Keep driving!

How much meat can a guy pull from an antlerless deer? 25-30 kilos on average, perhaps? That's 75-80 cents per kilo as it is, just for the tag. Add the wildlife certificate and you do not have much space to add the gas money to in order for it to make some kind of sense. But that is just my thinking.

I am not against you, fyi; to each their own.

Your own statements clearly state you want a deer gifted to you, you don’t want to do any work to get the mule deer and you openly say it. You state you want to truck hunt and not walk until you know they are there. What kind of a reaction did you expect because you got the one you deserved. You want to drive and hunt areas that all require permission which leads to the question will you bother to ask once you see something. Almost everything you are willing to do to get your mule deer goes against the basic hunting ideals that almost all of us go by. Your question might be better asked on a chev, ford or dodge pick up forum. Enjoy your tag soup young man.

Nobody here is disputing yor right to do this. All were saying is if your not willing to put in a little leg work on your own then we're not helping you. I think I speak for most everyone on here when I say that. If you were willing to get out of your truck, ask permission then I'm sure you would have gotten a few pointers but you made it clear you did not want to do that.

Exactly! I don't think anyone on here cares how Extreme5 hunts, just don't be surprised when it doesn't yield results. Had you spent more time outside of the truck and looked around you probably wouldn't need to be looking for tips on a forum.

Actually I was out again this evening and I finally spotted a 5 deer herd, but no one was home for me to get permission from. Just my luck.
I did not shoot by the way

The last thing I would do is ask where exactly something is to hunt, that's why you have to drive, walk ,crawl and do whatever it takes to find it,i wouldn't want to be told where to get my animal. You find and locate and before the season and ask the landowners so you don't waste you season.

I love locating my own spots and avoid any private land, before I ask for permission to hunt I will quite for ever.

The second last thing I would do is tell someone where animals are located,if you can't do your homework and locate your game your not a hunter.
If your disabled and have problems getting out I would go out of my way to help you in anyway possible,if your not disabled and can get around ok then eat your gun case.

The steak isle is at the back in sobeys and that's my tip of the week
